That condition on the first is wild. Kind of makes me less pleased
LightsOnJimmy
How much does Calgary hate Edmonton? Like did Conroy get bullied by Holland at a GM meeting and won’t let it go?
itsyaboigelo
Unprotected First is always a good return

CorrosionRF
So if vegas trades their 25 1st to someone else then Calgary gets an unprotected 26 1st?
MonkeySailor
I like the unprotected 2025 or 2026 first rounder. Some potential there for it to be a good pick.
But not getting an actual prospect back and instead just an tweener is pretty bad.
HarveyHound
I’m expecting big things from Miromanov. He’s going to save our powerplay. Right?
zooco
Craig is just collecting all the Russians this year.
Ok_Ground_9622
Can’t say I really expected much maybe a prospect, don’t really think Miromanov counts but at least we traded him rather than letting him walk for nothing. I wonder how much of an impact his agent had on the return
Comfortable-Ad-7158
Given everything that’s been going on.
I don’t Hate this trade. People can be Debbie downers if you want. But it’s been an absolute shit show for a 1st year gm to deal with.
Individual_Potato629
Time to boo Hanifin every time he touches the puck. Thanks for screwing us over buddy, super classy. Goodjob to Connie, he did the best he could in the situation. Can’t imagine there was much to work with here
noor1717
So it’s not even a 1st this year? Vegas isn’t bottoming out in the next couple seasons. MSN this is a rough return
JayTalk
If this first rounder is truly unprotected, this could be massive if Vegas falls off
Little-Aide-5396
Remember when it was a 1st, Lundell and Samoskevich or a 1st and Isaac Howard
imaybeacatIRl
I’m OK with it.
No-Nebula-653
Conroy had a lot to clean up over the span of this year, I’m sure he did the best he could with the cards he was given
Rivendel45
I’m not mad bout this trade
kobedziuba
So now we hope Hanafin doesn’t sign with the Knights and they become really bad
HarveyHound
So we weren’t supposed to trade with Tampa plus extension, because they had no prospects and their 1st round pick would only be in 2026.
So instead we traded with Las Vegas for no prospects and a 1st round pick potentially in 2026. I see.
broke-collegekid
Conroy got fucking fleeced hard. Also why we should have made this trade in the offseason instead of now. Same thing with Lindholm.
chefers1
Oof that’s rough
Wooden_Proposal_1615
So we got a tweener, and a 1st in 2026 and a 2nd in 2025. Not looking forward to the Marky trade all of a sudden.
swordthroughtheduck
Vegas is shopping their 2025 pick, which would give us a 2026 unprotected 1st and a 2024 2nd when they win in the first round.
There’s a very real chance Vegas is still strong in 2026, but there’s also a very real chance they start to look like Chicago after their consecutive cup runs, or Tampa Bay now with guys getting priced out, and empty cupboards to round out the lineup in a meaningful way.
Full_Examination_920
Gee frank, you were wrong again. Ya bucket o’ fuck.
MeursaultWasGuilty
It’s not great but its better than him walking for nothing. Refusing to sign an extension with anyone but Tampa really tied the team’s hands. I guess Hanifin decided that route was what was best for him and I’m not sad to see him gone. I want players who at least care a little about the team and their teammates.

Still better than the Iggy trade! Everyone’s gotta remember that these are UFAs we’re shipping out.
Confused_Astronaut
I think I’m smelling copium in here.
Conditional future 1st and no prospect in return?
Right before the trade everyone was like “we’re getting a first AND which prospect?”
It turns out we get…no prospect.
I mean…it’s bad. We have to hope that Vegas sucks to make this trade decent.
BlueEyesWhiteSliver
Also, the first round condition is conditional if Vegas becomes an abysmal team team and needs their 1st round pick. Then we get 2026 1st round.
SKKforLife
I pray that Vegas trades the 2025 first. An unprotected 2026 first in the Mckenna draft could be found money.
RangerGripp
I expected more, but I don’t think Conroy is a moron. The market is what the market is.
