Rangers have acquired forward Alex Wennberg from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for the Rangers’ own second-round selection in the 2024 NHL Draft and a conditional fourth-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft
Kraken are my second favorite team to watch, so I for one am pretty hype for this acquisition. We needed a 3c so I’m happy !

The condition on the 4th round pick is it becomes a 3rd if Nils Lundqvist gets 55 points this season (he has 15). Such a funny condition to me

Very good acquisition in my opinion. We’ve played at least half the year with Brodzinski & Goodrow as our 3C and have been one of the top teams in the NHL. But as admirable as they’ve done, you cannot go into the playoffs with them centering our 3L as they are most valuable on the 4th line. Cuylle-Wennberg-Kakko should be a very much improved 3L and better suited to being a shutdown line.
His +/- need to improve, his career +/- are not awesome

He’s not gonna light up the scoreboard (though he has a nasty shot we all wish he used more 😂) but most of us are at least a little bummed to be losing him. We just have a lot of centers and need to make room for Shane Wright
Bottom six needed a 3c badly. Nice move and it didn’t cost too much.
Fucking hurts losing Chytil for the season. He really stepped up last year and was poised to become C2. Hopefully Wennberg can fill in and elevate L3.
I am so glad that we never got Lindholm especially considering what Vancouver gave up for him. Complete bust and it would’ve been no different if he landed here.

Good pick up but unfortunately won’t be enough to make our mid team good. We’ll need more than Wennberg for that.
I’ve watched a lot of Seattle games. That first season I remember he was notorious for passing instead of shooting to the point it became a running gag. That being said I think he’ll set up Cuylle real nicely.
