I didn’t think this team could be a cup contender without a clear 2C. Well, now we have one.
While it’s disappointing Byram didn’t work out long-term, he was still a major factor in the cup victory. He came in when Sammy G got injured and played very well as a 21-year-old. Underrated part of that championship IMO.

Sad to see Byram go but it was kind of inevitable (though for his sake I wish he’d have been traded somewhere where he’d really have a clear opportunity to be a #1 D) . Overall though it’s pretty damn solid, especially with Nichushkin soon to be back and perhaps even Landy back for the playoffs… definitely liking the way this roster is looking for a postseason run more.

Honestly, I think these deals make us a better team immediately. RyJo wasn’t it at all at 2C and a waste of cap space. And Byram, who I loved and will miss, just hasn’t been the same player.
