Safe to say the Flames won that trade. Not only did they get a haul, they’re not stuck with Lindholm @ 8.5M+ longterm.

Lindy was always one of my faves during his time here but I think it’s becoming more and more clear how much he was propped up by Johnny and chuckie.

Did Lindholm play the bumper in Calgary?

Brzustewicz will walk in free agency, that’s why they traded him. Jake is going to Carolina or Vegas.

if they flip the assets Boston pays for Lindholm and end up getting Guentzel without moving their top 3 prospects or Höglander it actually can be a win for Vancouver.

So It all depends on what Boston gives up, they clearly desperately need a 1C, we’ll see what happens tho lol. Can be awkward for Lindholm if it doesn’t end up happening, it’s clear he’ll never be a top six centre there with Miller and Pettersson signed long term.

How does Vancouver potentially moving lindholm affect who won the previous trade? lol

Classic – celebrating too early before you hear the return on Lindholm. Let this play out before getting too carried away.

Lindholm was great here because he was a play connector and was really able to fill in the gaps where it was needed all while having a lethal shot. However, he never really was a play driver and the legend of his defensive ability was far greater than that of his actual ability. He hasn’t ever even been the best defensive forward on his team, let alone been genuinely worthy of Selke attention. A lot of that reputation felt, to me, like everyone fawning over how good Tkachuk and Gaudreau were and decided that Lindholm also had to be otherworldly at something, so he must be great defensively! His true talent shone through when Gaudreau and Tkachuk left, and it certainly feels like some of this is age related decline.

Considering the lengths Calgary went to try to sign this guy, they’re lucky he didn’t accept that asinine contract offer.

It would suck for Lindy but all is forgiven if they win

  11. Brzustewicz likely won’t sign in Canada thats why he got moved in the first place, and even so no guarantee he will translate to the nhl. Late 1st rounder that could amount to nothing. Kuzy money off Nucks books next year. Not sure how this is a huge W.
