If you expected a major change in strategy the day after a coach got fired, I would just assume you’ve never played a sport before.
Is what it is. Hope guys like timo keep producing down the stretch and gain some confidence to come in to next season ready to blow the doors off. Maybe some bottom 6 guys start producing again as well, but the bottom 6 fell off when McLeod was removed. Need to replace the depth so guys like tierny aren’t playing every single game.
Dont ever bench Nemo again, not saying he would’ve made all the difference, his play is crucial to our team
Sat in the lofts last night because they were really cheap and man what a difference it makes. Seeing your team get scored on while stuffing your face with actually decent buffet food is a lot less painful than in a regular seat with regular concession stands
Pain
I liked seeing Hughes Hischier and Bratter out during 5v5
Now please bench Luke for a game and give us a chance to see what the 1st power play looks like with Nemec running it
Not the result we were looking for, but after the first 5-10 minutes I felt like they actually played extremely well.
Timo looked like his former self. I’m not sure if Lindy was holding him back from using his body but I noticed he wasn’t afraid to get physical all night. He just keeps improving, soon enough we’ll have SJ Timo back and I can’t wait for it.
Haula probably had his best night of the season where he didn’t record a point. He was noticeable every time he touched the ice, and it made me happy to realize he’s willing to step up.
Luke also had a good game. There was plenty of times where I was like “here we go again” and then he made the **right** play. Seemed more confident and played well in all 3 zones minus a rookie mistake or two. He’s going to be really good for a long time, just need to tighten up on things a little. We gotta remember we know the name very well, but just like his brother he’s struggling size-wise this year. He’s a rookie, let him grow. He’s going to be amazing.
Let’s hope something changes at today’s practice to make it more tailored towards Green’s coaching style.
