  1. Does anybody look at there own team they cheer for who is struggling and think to themselves “why can’t my GM and my team pull this type of trade off”

  2. As a Vegas fan, feel like this is a good deal for us. Mantha brings size, speed, defence and most importantly, offence. He has 34P in 56GP which is great for a guy with bottom 6 mins. This also allows us to still big-game hunt

  3. As a Caps fan vegas won this trade, I got hyped up this season by his play being way better than before to get his trade value up, and then all they get is a 2nd and a 6th and the big kicker is the 50% retained.

  4. caps fan, he has finally started to show some toughness, but you never see a screen from his big size in front of the net he plays like he is 5-9, he has some game but i was a verana fan when we got him, so what do i know.?, mantha sought out help from a therapist seems to have been beneficial ,he is a good player on bad teams ,curious to see how he does with a cup contender with higher expectations at his age now..probably back to the therapist (just joking) caps were a cup contender when we got him and he just disappeared. but millionaire several times over in your twenties not a bad life. best wishes to Mantha he has played better this year, caps have a decent prospect pool so im Just okay with the deal , he was gone after this season anyway so got something for him. i wonder about charlie lindgren ,i can see him getting some value he has played great, would love to keep him but caps are stacked at goaltending in the minors.

  5. All the best in Vegas, Mantha.
Before any Yinzers try and spin another "ha ha, Cleveland Browns" insult at us, I'd say this is a pretty good return for us. 50% salary retention for just the remainder of the season sounds about right, cause let's be real, this Capitals team is slowly transitioning into a rebuild phase despite what everyone is saying. There is no way anyone is surrendering a first round pick for a winger turning 30 this year, but recouping some value, no matter how little, is the best way to mitigate bad trades or signings. I'll take the 2nd and 4th round pick than lose him for nothing.

  6. I’m glad you brought up Mantha’s lackadaisical nature. Drove me crazy watching him in Washington because he had no hustle. Happy with the return but he’s been a timely scorer that’ll be missed

  7. Mantha has all the tools to be a great power forward but never seemed to try to be that.

In Detroit he was so streaky and kinda just stood around and waited for the puck to come to him instead of using his body to win battles. Idk maybe being on a serious contender will make him care more.

  8. Win win. The Caps need to start a rebuild as their future is horrible right now. This is a guy whos not really need at the moment for any reason. A 2nd this year is solid.
