Iowa D Prospects must not be developing at all , what happened to all the draft picks? How does this help this team going forward? I get it if he mentored Hunt but will he be paired w Merrill? 😂😂😂
Another stick in the perverbial eye if you are a young D Prospect! "Play in Minnesota"? RIIIIGHT… Come here and get stuck in Iowa unless you're old, slow and can't hit the net from 50 feet! Not my pick to stay! I wish that Leafs would've taken Bogosian! This will be a regret if you ask me! We will see a drought of young players signing. They see Beckman, Letieri, Luccini, Hunt & Mermis stuck in Iowa and no chances to become permanent roster players! Just Billy G and his old, cripple player club!!!
Re-signing Mermis would be a show of good faith if nothing else. He was thrust into a role for which he wasn't expecting to fill, regardless of his readiness. But I wouldn't be surprised if Guerin passed.
Assuming Mermis does re-sign, I think the pairings are obvious until Spurgeon returns: Faber-Middleton, Brodin-Chisholm, and Bogosian-Hunt (or vice versa if I got the sides wrong…I don't know them THAT well). with Mermis waiting in the wings as a contingency.
