The department of player safety would see this and agree on 2 things: 1. The hit was interference, and 2. The referees missed a very obvious call.
Maybe we should consider the referees sit it on the sidelines with videos of different angles at the live game, next to the penalty boxes for quick access to the ice in case there's a fight or if one of them gets hurt. They'd be out of the way of the players, so there would be more ice and less chance the officials get in the way, plus they could make better calls and not miss any obvious ones like this. The linesmen would stay on the ice as usual, except they'd relay the referees message to the linesmen somehow, maybe and ear piece?
