I think the Leafs have to go for it. Matthews, Marner and Nylander are in their prime and it would be a shame to waste a year of it. Having said that, I'd rather see them trading their first-round pick and/or someone like Nic Robertson in the right deal than good prospects like Cowen or Minten.
It would be a hard choice, but I would consider trading Marner for defensive help and possible draft picks. I would prefer to trade Tavares, but he is a glue guy for the Leafs.
I'm not sure if this post includes having an NHL team in London, but I agree, that due to logistics – that would be difficult to do. Although, I feel that it would be in the NHL's benefit, to develop elite level hockey in the UK.
They should be trying to resolve their salary cap problem for the long term. They don"t have what it takes to get by Florida this year.
The Leafs will add another piece at the trade deadline .It will be a blockbuster or at least a lybushkin type. I've been a Leafs fan for a long time. It's cool to see fans from Scotland, too . Good Show Victoria 🏒 👍.

I think they should be getting a couple of d men back soon. Adding another d man would be ideal. ( a gritty one) When playoffs start, usually every team plays more defensively.
A lot more aggressive style shows and your gritty players make a huge difference in scoring. Speedy players have to soldier through the chaos and take a lot of physical abuse.
If your veteran players can show the leadership necessary and withstand the onslaught , your team has a chance. Hard to say yet if leafs can go far until it is clear who they
play in first round. They are still in contention to finish at top of their division.

Dumba and Barrie are trash. Carriere idk much about. Unless it's a top 4 d-man that is proven they shouldn't move their first round pick. Who do you sit out if they add a top 4 RD now. Bush, Lilly or Benoit would be the option with Gio the #8 d-man.

I didn"t/hadn't thought of Wennberg, however a depth centre or even a #2 centre to take the place of Domi would be a need Toronto has – the question is at what cost, cap hit, and term.
I've wondered about Boone Jenner from Columbus. He has term, a more reasonable cap hit that with some creativity could be shrunk and places a gritty style that would be endearing to the fans and Treliving alike. Columbus also has Peeke and Boquist as cheap R defenders and a more expensive, but very gritty/physically dominant Gudbransson. Each could be added as a sweetner.
Being Columbus is in a rebuild, perhaps Robertson/Holberg/Timmins would be of interest.
