Over the past couple of days they’re has been some interesting Tweets and Trade rumors regarding NJ Devils pending Free Agent Forward Tyler Toffoli. Alot of the news was waiting on how the west coast trip went for the NJ Devils. If they did well they may be buyers come Fridays NHL trade Deadline, but the Devils lost to the Anaheim Ducks & La Kings and The Devils are best suited to be sellers come Friday.
The Devils best trade chip is Tyler Toffoli. Hes leading the team in goals with 26 and proving to be a good trade the Devils made in the offseason with the Calgary Flames for Yegor Sharangovich. Their is mutual interest with both parties to continue playing for the Devils, but Toffoli can net the Devils a solid return, that can in turn be used to acquire a much needed goaltender.
In this video, I discuss should Tyler Toffoli Be Extended By The NJ Devils or should he Get TRADED To teams of interest like the Edmonton Oilers, the Vegas Golden Knights, or LA Kings?

I think they'll end up resigning him, but we'll see. 4 days to go.
I like Tofolli but I miss Shara and we lost him thanks to Lindy.
Sell sell sell!
See wat his price is if it's what works for the devils sign him if he asks for to much trade him but signing him to like a 3 year deal is what I would like cause we need a guy around our young players who can score
Would be greatly disappointed if he doesn't return 😮
I'd like to keep him. Once things get straightened out and the team becomes a strong contender, he would be a tremendous asset in goal scoring.
We need a 1st round pick to trade for a goalie. So I'd say bye-bye to toffoli. We need a bigger power forward other then timo
Interesting situation here. I think the Devs save a bit of money on an extension versus trying to reacquire him in UFA. However, is that savings worth the chance of losing out on a potential 1st round pick+ via trade. I guess you always risk not getting a guy in UFA if he choses to go elsewhere. That being said, if both Toffoli and NJ like each other, at it is reported, you would think there would be a convo between the two about both extending and UFA acquisition options. If Toffoli can't give the Devils a barometer on letting this go to UFA and giving NJ an opportunity to resign him, then maybe he really doesn't love it here after all. It's a tough call, because Toffoli wants to probably guarantee himself a term in case he gets hurt etc. NJ gives him the best option at that with the extention. The other angle to look at is if NJ is still really sweet on Markstrom, do they attempt a 3 team deal, sending Toffoli to another team for a 1st+, and then flip that 1st to Calgary for Markstrom? I def do think they are going to need assets either wat to acquire a goalie. Because the UFA goalie market is pretty poor, and they already don't have a 2nd and a 4th in this year's draft. NJ will have a better chance at nailing a UFA defenseman as the market will have some pretty good ones available barring extentions. This is def a tough call if the offers are a 1st and a good prospect. If NJ has gotten low ball offers, I guess you can go ahead and extend him, because the market for UFA's in Toffoli type players (age/contract/skill) isn't a big one, with Anthony Maantha probably being your only other option. Although Maantha would address a size and toughness need for NJ. The other consideration is… can a healthy Vanacek with a competent defense in front of him do the job? Glad I'm not a GM, but I hate that I'm a Devils fan sometimes!
I like Tiffoli's offensive game but his defense and skating are lacking. I'd much prefer a physical, faster skater who's not afraid to get dirty and dig out pucks in the corners. Rumor is that Buffalo is considering trading Tuch. If true, he would be exactly the type of player NJ desperately needs. So I would sell Tiffoli while his stock is high.
We need him for next season. Maybe he looking to settle down and he likes NJ.
We need his experience, Fitzy did not resign our veterans from last season.
Palat might be shipped out lol
The entire Toffoli situation in NJ is baffling.
First , NJ trades assets for Toffoli on one year rental deal.
Toffoli, being a great player, a veteran leader, & this acquisition would indicate NJ would be going all in for a Stanley Cup push.
Then Tom Fitzgerald sits on his hands the entire season & essentially gives up.
Just mind boggling the lack of trying to actually improve.
Let's face it, if Toffoli isn't on NJ this season, NJ's record would be closer to that of Chicago.
As a fan, I want Toffoli back.
I just don't see Toffoli being able to make the type of long term money in NJ.
The Palat albatross contract comes back to haunt again because if Palat is worth 5 million per for 30 points a season, then Toffoli is millions & millions more.
Plus, the resigning of Toffoli will cost NJ long-term Mercer and Holtz.
NJ has to keep Mercer and resign him.
Likewise I would hate for NJ to give up on Holtz. Holtz has proven he can play, and of course, should not be relegated to the 4th line.
Also, I believe Mercer's statistical "down year" is due to Lindys Casino Royale style of ridiculous handling of the lines and purposefully playing people of of position.
Bottom line, we all know the Devils are cooked 🍳.
I can see a playoff team offering big compensation to add Toffoli at the deadline.
NJ should take the assets and flip that for a team looking to cap dump a goalie in the offseason.
If NJ should if they can flip Miller, Nosek, Smith, & Vitek ("illness???")
Personally, I would have the entire D -Corps on the block aside from Hamilton , Nemec, & Luke.
Just to see who is offering what.
Either way, the entire D-corps and goaltending has to be addressed entirely in the offseason.
The Titanic has struck the iceberg & we are all just waiting for it to sink…..
It would be great if the Devils re-sign him & I think they will, too.
And if the Devils trade him, he won't come back.
Ship him off and forget about him.The sooner the better
Keep Toffoli, fire Lindy!
I sure hope he's traded. He's been a GREAT Devil but he doesn't match our timeline in the slightest. We're not too good for draft picks.
