Best defenceman in the draft by far. I have him at 4th overall, behind Hughes, Kakko and Dach. If he goes to Florida, he’ll be their second best defenceman behind Matheson. Btw, Pettersson is a bust.

I would say it is not necessarily a risk to have a supply of "elite" left handed d-man. You never know who is going to pan out. I would say if Byram is within our pick range, we get him, but we shouldn't go out of our way to get him. However, Kaapo Kakko would look awesome along side of Petterson and Boeser….

Byram-Hughes would be an incredible pairing. Hughes on the right side. They’d push the pace like we’ve never seen in this city before. With Pettersson and Horvat up the middle we’d have a very fast team that would attack in waves. I liked what I saw from
Bromberg too and don’t know who’s better, but just take the BPA and who cares if he’s a lefty.

legorocks have you seen Noel Gunler? Because of his performance in the shl, scouts suggest he may go 2nd overall after Lafreniere. They even say he might be fighting for the 1st overall.
I personally have him at #3 right now behind only Hughes and Kakko. Defenceman like this are hard to come by.
