I find it harder to track the puck and action when there’s player bars and ads taking up majority of your vision.
If you’re going to do a hovering name bar, just do the letters without a background and have the font color be the same as on the score banner. NO need to display a giant team logo (they don’t have one already on the front of their jersey?) and numbers too…

I’ve noticed that a lot of times, it’s only done on the powerplay and changes based on who has the puck. I think that’s sort of fine, maybe a little annoying at times. They could do something akin to the video game where it’s on the bottom corner away from the play instead.
Tagging a single player who isn’t even on the puck for extended periods of time? Not good at all.

Everything about watching that game was incredibly obnoxious. Bedard graphic on the screen constantly, Bedard on the bench, Bedard picking his nose, announcers saying “Bedard” every 10th word. Holy hell it was bad. What an embarrassment for ESPN. Feel bad for the kid and the total spectacle they made of him, only to watch the Blackhawks loose 5-0.
Perhaps there are other players on the ice, including one that got an assist and goal, that just might win the Hart trophy this year. I really am starting to hate nationally televised games.

This isn’t a post against Bedard, it a post about that stupid graphic ESPN decided to have on him the entire game for no reason at all. It would have been ok if it was the first 3-4 second seconds of his shift, not the entire time he was on the ice, anywhere on the ice.
And this would have been annoying on any other player, not just him.
