They should draft him and make a big trade for a proven #1 Dman. Their not.in Detroit territory where they rebuilt from scratch…they got some pieces….right now they can get chhychrun, pesce, or Montour just to name a few.
Don’t go out of the way to take him. If there’s better players available, go with them. If it’s meant to be he’ll fall into our laps
Sadly, the Flames aren’t in a position to draft “favourites”, but making the team better is not going to happen overnight. A true long term plan, over 3-5 years, means they have an opportunity to draft him if he’s available. Because the Flames aren’t going to be superstars next year no matter who they draft. A top D-man in spots 5-10 will still take 2-3 years to develop unless he is lucky.
