The Dallas Stars lose once again in Ottawa and get handed their fourth straight loss is what is becoming an awful road trip. The Stars are dealing with injuries and playing great teams, but last night was ugly. Joey releases his frustrations and points out how this was the situation the Stars could not afford. Their lack of depth defensively got them by the majority of the season, but now with injuries to Jani Hakanpaa and Nils Lundkvist they are trying to put a band aid on a much larger problem. The lone bright spot in the game was Joe Pavelski who scored his 20th goal of the season. It’s his 14th season where he has reached the 20 goal mark and joins a list of Mike Modano, Patrick Kane and Keith Tkachuk who have more as U.S born players. Dallas must make a move at the deadline if they truly want to win a Stanley Cup and they need Jake Oettinger to be more consistent. It’s a problem well documented and will be the end of them if it’s not addressed. The Stars will try to salvage the road trip in Carolina tomorrow after defeating the Hurricanes a week ago. Joey then segways into a rant on Jamie Benn and how his play has not been up to par recently.

We knew February was going to be rough. Add on some injuries and trying to change some lines, it’s going to be another long week to end February. March will be better. Let’s see what Nill has up his sleeves.

Makes me wonder if we should shorten the season and only have 2 games per week. Seems like a lot of players are burned out at about the 60 game mark.
Mid season Lulls, I've been noticing alot of the best teams are kind of in coast mode. Colorado, Dallas, Vancouver ,Winepeg, Vegas all playing about .500 hockey at this point. I was surprised to See Dallas drop their 4th in a row. Good Pod!

Watching the game last night. I turned it off after the 2nd. Also great point on the Jamie Benn piece. I was saying the same thing too the past few weeks on why is he on the top PP unit.
