  1. My best friend is a Jets season ticket holder since day one. He says they keep relentlessly raising the prices. He fans are pissed off

  2. Big W trade for the Pens. Alex Nylander only works as a top 6 player, and he isn't good enough to be on a top line in the NHL. Bemström should be able to take a spot in their bottom 6, and maybe even help out with some scoring there.

  3. I mean, Winnipeg's situation right now is exactly why the NHL is not doing as well as they think they are. Middle class people can hardly afford to even go to 1 game anymore in any market, and in Winnipeg, where most of the population is working class, it's way worse.

  4. Kinda crazy how there's talk from higher-ups about the Jets being in a precarious position yet no one will directly come out and say the Coyotes are 1 month and no stadium away from moving

  5. The Coyotes are literally a homeless team but the attendance is a problem in Winnipeg? Lol but yes metro Winnipeg is very small- not just in population, but also in corporate support. There's not a lot of money in the city to support a professional sports team. It takes a lot more than people think, I suppose.

  6. The key difference about small markets that needs to be understood: when it's good, it's great. But it's the lean years that differentiates the small markets from the big. Toronto could be the worst team in the NHL for 10 years and still sell every single season ticket because there's enough die hard fans and corporate clients in that city. Maybe not sell out games and maybe those seats are sometimes empty, but they get their money.

  7. Mullett Arena getting filled is most likely because of the novelty of an NHL franchise playing in a small college arena. Once it dies, then it's gonna be an even bigger problem than it already is.

  8. It's funny, Vancouver made a big deal about Walman doing the Griddy dance, and trying to get even. Since the Wings-'nucks game in Vancouver, the Wings have won 3 in a row, and the 'nucks have lost 4 in a row

  9. In WPG, it's not the single game tickets that are the issue. It's season tickets, and it's corporate season ticket purchasers (suites, etc). I'm in Atlanta, watched the Thrashers leave, but I don't wish ill on the market. However, I would caution ownership that, from what I've heard anyway, they ought to treat their fans better. STHers don't like it when you send tickets to will call, only for them to not be there and having no obvious way to contact customer service to find out why. Just an example of things I've heard from that market.

  10. It's funny how when Winnipeg's attendance struggles, it's about the economy and ticket prices but when it's southern markets it's "they don't support the team so move them to x Canadian city"

If Winnipeg is struggling, imagine how much worse off a Quebec team would be…
