The Sunshine State was good to the Ottawa Senators even though they lost 3-2 to the Florida Panthers in overtime, they head home with three out of four possible points.
Brandon Piller and Ross Levitan recap the loss that saw a solid team effort but a better Panthers team had better goaltending from Sergei Bobrovsky ultimately was the difference. We have a SensCentral Citizen join the show! Today it’s Alex (@sens.fan.in.qc)! He tells us about being a committed Sens fan in Quebec, his worst and best memories at the CTC and more! We also have a discussion on what the Sens could try to do to get a struggling Josh Norris going again.

Norris, Batherson, Kubilik, and a first for Crosby and Guentzel ………🤷🏾♂️
Last night's game shows you just how close the Sens are.
A savvy and well crafted off season could instantly turn the Sens into a contender….that and consistent goaltending. lol
rush's TOM SAWYER……… Canadian band who knows they might allow it ????
#wwwwWWWWELCOME
They need some experience and someone who knows how to win. Crosby is the ultimate role model for the young Sens. Sending Norris and Batherson for two players who know how to win would be a huge win for us!
Great guest
Fellow val-des-monts citizen
I have no idea what’s up with the power play. Giroux (right shot) is always on the right side, and Norris (left shot) is always in the left side. There’s never anyone set up for the one-timer. They seem to be insisting on bumper shots in front with passes coming from the corners most of the time. But the PP has been awful, so I don’t know why Jacques refuses to try something else. 🤷🏻♂️
It's so hard to tell if Norris will spring back next season or never come close to his 35 goals in 66 game season again. Unfortunately it seems like a roll of the dice at this point. He's super talented and a good teammate, so I really hope it can work out. I'm interested in what Staios will do. Go Sens Go!!!
So is Norris
My aunts and uncles live in Val des Mont
Why go ahead of the sabres and habs let’s start the tankathon. The two losses against the two worst teams in as it for me time to back off
First game since JM that Batherson has put up any kind of performance and it was great to see.
Tired of reading people comment that the first shot went it when it's not about when but what and the Sens gave up a dangerous opportunity less than 20 secs into a game against one of the best teams in the division–you get LUCKY if those don't go in. Frosy got lucky that his Olympic SWIM didn't get punished by the lightning. Sens should have been down. If we're going to talk timing of goals then we should also talk about how the Sens didn't find the back of the net for almost 50 minutes… if your goalie can hold you to 2 goals for 60 minutes against a top team then that's great, but if you can't a goal on two power plays or the majority of the game then that's on an unproductive top 9.
Chychy and Sanderson are still creating incredibly dangerous moments on our defense and they don't have the offensive production to make up for it, if we didn't have Jacob Bernard-BLOCKER they would have SUNK us.
Lol remember Jacques first game as head coach Norris ripped that one timer from the right side 2 seconds into the first powerplay? Yeah we can’t have that happening 😂
Great guest, thank you Alex!
I think this season is a write off for Norris but I'm not worried long term. Everyone expected him to be good to go to start the season so it must have been brutal for him mentally when he wasnt. Then once he did return naturally there seemed to be some "PTSD" from back to back shoulder injuries. I think he is fully past the injury now but you cant really have a worse start to the season than that and I think all of that combined with him returning to a very different team than when he initially got injured has put him in a rut. I think with a full off season of regular training and a proper training camp he'll come back strong next year.
I will say though, I never liked his contract. He had an unsustainable shooting pct, plus he was always a 1 dimensional player and even within that 1 dimension he was scoring the same goal every single time. I dont remember him as the gritty 2-way forward you guys describe. I think he will only ever be a $6-7 million player which is totally fine since this team doesnt NEED him to score 35 to be successful anymore. I think Dorion just didnt negotiate hard enough to get him at the right contract, the cap was so far away he just said fuck it and signed it for the vibes.
You guys talked about what a successful rest of the season looks like for the Sens. I think 1 thing is Josh Norris finishing the season healthy.
Great to hear a fellow SensCentral Citizen from the Gatineau area!
When I was in college I had attended 40 of the 41 home games after the lockout – all single ticket buys 😂. One of the best year of my life ❤
Now…don’t get me wrong…Stutzle goal was incredible…but…for every great play, the guy has 5 awful ones…he is a giveaway machine…coaches have to clam down on this…very soon
Norris has overtaken Huberdeau as most overpaid player in the league.
Another solid episode, well done boys. We appreciate the hard work 💪
