It makes me feel good when players say and/or show that they want to be here. Kane saying he wants to stay in Detroit is especially cool. For so many years, the Red Wings were a destination for talent when they were winning cups…Then for so many years, including the recent past, the Red Wings were not a coveted destination whatsoever whether it was the city itself before they started fixing it up, the old barn before LCA, or Babcock, no one wanted to come here and that hurt as a lifelong local fan. So it feels good for talent to WANT to be here again.
