This is actually insane. One minute our goalie situation seemed to be hopeless and now we just might be a force to be reckoned with.

  2. That’s wild (in a good way). I’m still concerned about his durability and how cold he is having not played in months, but good for him.

Just need to pray that there are no setbacks post trade deadline 🙏🙏🙏

Is it really that much of a conundrum?

Freddie and Kochetkov are your 1 A/B, Martin as your 3rd option. Carrying 3 goaltenders isn’t unheard of and helps with the uncertainty with Freddie.

So one of the G gets moved by the deadline, but who? Martin was a waiver pick up and considering we’re low on that list, no one will take him. Kooch is the future. Raanta is hurt(again). Freddie is coming off the blood clotting issue. Do we send Raanta back down to the AHL? Or Martin, who has played well since we signed him.

  6. I mean… the way it’s looked I like running the Kooch/Martin tandem, but it’ll be good to have Freddy back.

I guess the question now is how much faith we have in our goalies. I love the problem of having an abundance of options in net, but with Raanta injured, Freddie’s potential for injury, kooch’s potential inconsistency and martin’s unknowns… makes it hard to say how well off we really are long term.

Idk if we can really trade any of them out unless we make an upgrade in net. Any less than what we have now and we’re fucked if the injury bug (or something else) strikes again

  8. Raanta has not given us much reason to keep him around this season, unfortunately

  9. Chet stays in net until Freddie is absolutely 100% again, then he takes a backup role. Martin rides the bench.

Love what Raanta gave the team, but the combo of injuries and shaky play make him a clear 4th man out if Freddie is able to play.

Kooch/Anderson with Martin as the “in case of emergency” happens. Unfortunately Rants is the odd man out based on performance this season and injury history. Love the guy but gotta be real. I think he will clear waivers and we send him down. In the reverse scenario, I don’t think Martin would clear waivers based on his past 3 games and the desperation of good teams that need serviceable goalies

oh dont worry we’ll run a trio for about a week and then someone will get injured so we’ll be back down to 2

if I was a betting I’d say Jets or Canadiens

(knocks on wood that nothing actually happens)
