Every time Wolf is in net the defense always seems to let him fend for himself. Im not saying that he had the best game but it seems like a common theme when he gets to play.
Feel for you wolfy…there were a couple that had some weird bounces but some bad turnovers infront of you …still believe your our future even if your nhl career is off to a rocky start!
Most of the goals scored on him tonight should’ve been prevented by the rest of the team playing proper defence. Yes he should’ve stopped some big ones there in the 3rd to keep the team in it, and Markstrom likely would’ve been able to make though stops, but ultimately it wouldn’t have mattered because the rest of the team didn’t show up to play. A consistent theme for the last few years.
Sure its a rough night for him and thats too bad. He is trying but is just not ready to take the helm yet. Its a tough position to play but no guts no glory. Games like that are not going to cut it though. His positioning was not great tonight and i am surprised at how much of the top of the net is not covered. Don't trade Markie yet. It could get ugly without him.
The team infront of him had muffin up the muddle giveaway after muffin up the middle giveaways. Can't expect a rookie goalie with 7 starts under his belt to be able to bounce back. We all have those nights sometimes.
I feel for Wolf. The team in front of him didn't give him a lot of support tonight. I also imagine when he got told he was starting he got super excited and hyped up, then a couple pucks go in behind you and that high turns into frustration and disappointment. Honestly he's going to need half a NHL season to get into a routine and acclimatize to the NHL level. That's why I think it would be good to keep Markstrom around to mentor him. Hopefully some of the boys had some kind words for him and bought him dinner.
if he had been replaced after the 3rd goal, the game could have been saved, but in fact he is a weak goalkeeper, his dimensions are too small, he is not suitable for the NHL level…

Chin Up Kid. Too many giveaways and Flames lacked finishing and execution tonight
You can hear in his voice. Oh well. He just needs to chill and get back to work

I like this kid. Good luck as a minor kid
Just imagine not playing the worst team in the league.
