Tony Brar and Bob Stauffer discuss the brilliance of Connor McDavid, another strong start for Stuart Skinner and Cody Ceci’s first of the season. The Oilers earn their 31st victory with an 8-4 final at Rogers Place.
The Oilers’ new style is lit. McDavid as playmaker. It’s difficult for McDavid to switch but he’s showing leadership by becoming the playmaker so kudos to him. McDavid had 6 assists and we saw 8 goals from 7 different players. Most encouraging is that almost all goals were contributions from different lines. That’s an awesome development to see. Hope the lines continue to build up their strength and confidence in the second half and it will be exciting to see when the lines mature with their build up chemistry.
This team needs to invest in more sophisticated analysts. Guys like Strudwick or Brown that have actually played the game. Lots of backslapping, no analysis of blown leads and own zone defending breakdown bad habits which have been creeping back.
So Bob would you still pick Valeri Nichushkin over Darnell Nurse ? Inquiring minds want to know. Oh Yeah you were only guessing thats who the Oilers would pick. So never mind.
