John Shannon joins and talks “The Code.” He reveals that he has a leather-bound copy of the code, talks about the Detroit-Vancouver rematch Thursday, how he wasn’t bothered by Ridley Greig’s slapshot into an empty net, and how retribution often puts a team at a competitive disadvantage. John comments on the Penguins and Kraken falling out of the race and who might be available, as well as the Super Bowl telecast and its huge viewership.

Can the canucks get Greig? He could be our Marchand. +19 on a bad team
If this was the 90s, I’d care about The Code. Because of all the rule changes and the efforts to get fighting almost out of hockey while increasing rat like behaviour, there is no Code anymore. A guy taking a slapper from close range on an empty net isn’t a big deal. We’ve seen an increase in dirty plays, especially towards star players, not a decrease. The Code hasn’t existed for decades. Ask Sidney Crosby about that.
Zadorovpenaltyfor beingtall. Head hithead by accident.
