    This is one of the dumbest moves this year. Hatakka has been just what the defence needed.

    Cool. It’s not like Hatakka was playing really well and wasn’t a penalty magnet or anything. What could possibly go wrong?

    Hatakka has literally been our most effective left handed defensive dman this season. Significantly better than Bahl and Siegenthaler in a small sample.

    Probably got sent down so they could activate Smith because they used their last roster spot to call up Akira, DeSimone would probably require waivers so it’s the safer option. Hopefully he’ll be back up when VV comes back because he’s been really good for them so far.

    Yeah what the hell? If you wanna get smith in the lineup ok I guess, line him up on 4th line on the wing. Hatakka looked like he belongs.

    Not crazy about this move, but hopefully the pairs get switched up then. Bahl-Nemec just hasn’t worked, while Smith-Nemec was actually quite good (no idea why). Any combination of the other 4 should be fine.

    Fucking relax. He’ll be back full time next season once Smith’s contract expires, or if someone else gets injured.

    EDIT: Ruff Derangement Syndrome is rampant in this sub and this thread.

    Am I wrong for thinking this move has nothing to do with Ruff? 20% of the comments here are cursing out the coach for a move I thought was made by the GM.

    E: also yeah, that’s frustrating. I’ve really liked how he’s looked and I assume he’s back before too long.

    This isn’t surprising. Hatakka is the only one who has options to go back down. We picked up DeSimone on Waivers, so he’d be exposed to the waiver wire.

    Look at this as a net positive, we’ve seen that we have some really good depth on Defense like we saw with Okhotiuk last year.

    The end is near. A guy we got in a trade just to take a roster spot from them that was drafted like 200 picks into the draft was waived.

    He’s the only guy waiver exempt. Played well but it happens.

    While I 100% would like coaching changes and question the management of this team, I also am the first to admit that I don’t understand waivers and such, so I won’t just get belligerent over this. Someone please explain why this was a logical move, I’m asking in good faith.
