The Flyers firing him for his unintentionally insensitive (but milquetoast) comment was ridiculous. Dude immediately apologized when he realized the context of the “snip the braid” comment. I’m pretty sure this happened around the same time they got rid of the Kate Smith statue because she sang covers of (admittedly) racist songs back in the 1930’s.
The race hysteria stuff is and was out of hand.

Like him or not, good dude, he’d occasionally hang out after games at the pavilion. Since he left, the in game presenters have been straight up terrible, like chuck fletcher hired them or something. I still do his grocery store dance sometimes.
