He better not! I love him!
Hell no! He's the reason teams go far in playoffs
Ken Holland and Steve Yzerman talking about trades makes me laugh.
I think the best thing for the wings this trade deadline is to hold fast. reason being, that they look good, and if they make the playoffs they garner much needed experience for the young core, and Perron and the vets can help that experience. Not to mention (outside of trying to paralyze Artem Zub) he's looked stellar this year
There’s no way Detroit is selling
The Red Wings are currently tied with Toronto in points and 1 point behind Tampa Bay in the race for the two wild card spots and the 3rd spot in their division with a 4 point lead on the Islanders in the wild card race . . . I don't think they're going to be sellers are the Trade Deadline!
Detroit is actually in a playoff run. I wouldn't shop him, but if someone is calling about him I'd listen. In the last few years we have been sellers at the deadline. A lot depends on the next few weeks. If we are still in the same position in regards to the playoffs that we are now. I see no reason to trade him. We will need him if we are going to make a playoff push. if they are going to give us a first round pick or a promising prospect. I'm okay with trading him. It might make a spot of Berggren.
I see maybe Reimer being traded. We do need extra firing power for offense and maybe a D man to pursue the rest of March for play off run. I wouldn't cry to see Copp or Ras traded.
Perron might not hit the score sheet everyday, but he provides more value than whats on paper. I would hate to see him be traded for less than a first and second or prospect
no one wants this guy he's a bum lol
Hell. No keep peron
This is embarrassing and hilarious. The wings aren't trading away players when we are snuggled in a warm playoff blanket. If anything we might trade a diamond in the rough down in the minors but no regular like perron. Keep the good work up. Enjoy the videos.
Man stop trying to slide everyone into Edmonton. Even if Edmonton got all these guys they would still find a way to lose. Yzerman would lose a lot of fans trading Perron away for nothing
Perron for Kane and future considerations
I agree Perron is most certainly not going to be traded, and I doubt Yzerman is a big seller come the trade deadline in general.
That said, if the Wings were looking to make a decent trade with one player that suits up daily, Perron makes sense given his age and contract status. I think he'd garner a fair amount, and would help make room for Berrgren . I don't know the Oilers prospects enough but I think it would take one of the better prospects, especially if the Wings retain salary.
In the end I think it would take a near head-turner type trade offer for it to happen since the Wings are looking to make the playoffs after such a long drought. Perron seems to have alot of respect in the locker room and the Wings are in the middle of a playoff push. Not someone you trade and risk the locker room issues it could cause.
There’s no way we’re selling. Perron may go somewhere in free agency, but the Red Wings are playing like a contender. Not saying they will go on a run, but this level of defense and goaltending wins games in the playoffs.
While I like the idea of getting something for an asset that we aren’t probably going to resign in the off season (same applies to Ghost) I think we should hold onto him and hold fast at the deadline. Getting into the playoffs would be great experience for our young core and selling would send the wrong message to the team. That being said, I’m not against any trades, but I don’t think we should be selling or buying just to sell or buy: it would have to make sense and it would have to be players with term that would actually improve our core. Most trades like this happen in the off season and would be at a much more reasonable cost
