No Leaf Troll can honestly – call in and say the Leafs are a sad sack team. Here are a few issues Leafs had – 1) during after game interview Marner didn’t show he cares about this loss, 2) Nylander just watched as the NYI team scored their 3rd goal, and 3) Matthews just didn’t score (rang it off the posts). Also, Sammy played well – but he looked distressed watching from the bench at games end – he just is very sensitive and stresses himself. Hope he holds out.
If the Leafs continue this pattern – a chasing team like Islanders, Penguins, Devils or Capitals might knock the Leafs out of the playoffs. No need for negativity or name calling here – as a Wildcard team now the Leafs are just competing with other average NHL teams in the standings. Maybe at least – Matthews might score 70 this year? Give credit NYI bench boss – he out coached the Leafs this loss.😀
Zack I wanna throw in the white towel on this season even if the leafs make the playoffs they won’t make it past the first round so what treliving needs to do is focus on getting something for our UFA s like domi bertuzzi Brodie etc use them draft picks to acquire good prospects or use them in trades and start building a much better defence like adding chychrun pesce hanifin
They are just a middle of the road team thats all. The moves in the off season havnt panned out and I see no reason at all to try and get anything at the trade deadline. Run it as is into the playoffs and start to make some real moves come after the first round loss

That Nylander contract is GROSS and reeks of horrible management. i made this comment in the video following the signing, and i will repeat it even louder now. The people that run this team are a laughing stock.
Benoit is a useful stopgap / duct tape type guy but come on = not much talent, undrafted and even the Ducks didn't want him. Let's get real – this guy should receive no more than 2 minutes of mention ….. over a full hockey season.
Zack, please comment on Horvat fighting Benoit, a career minor leaguer, to protect his mates and send a message. Would Mitch or Auston do that? I don't think so. And it pumped up the Islanders in my estimation. He held his own against a decent pugilist.
Toews might actually turn things around …. Devon that is.
