I know a lot of caps fans are ready to ship him out of town, but I really feel for him and hope that he finds peace with his ongoing problems. Wonder how many other players have been in the player assistance program more than once
skilzkid
I hope he finds peace and clears up whatever got him into the program.
From a salary perspective, is this basically like LTIR where the cap space comes back prorated?
musuak
Good for him. Well bad it came to this but good he’s getting help.
controlled_drinking
Hm.
bleached_n_tiedyed

Recovery isn’t easy. We’ve got your back kuzy

It’s not right to beat a man when he hits his lowest. I hope Kuzy recovers.

Maybe it’s because I have a soft spot for Kuzy: Caps don’t win the Cup without him in 2018. But this is often the case with Russian players. They just don’t have the same NHL workout dedication (on the whole) as the American and Canadian hockey players. Evgeni Malkin is a bit of an exception.
I think Lavs ruined what love Kuzy had left for hockey. I also think he’s been depressed in Washington and he’s even said he’s wanted a trade for a while. On top of that, I have to believe substance abuse may be going into this. All of which I have compassion for no matter what his salary hit is.
Cup run Kuzy was elite. Best damn shoot out scorer too. I’m biased but will always love him.

It takes a lot of courage to get help, I hope he’s able to get what he needs and can return to the ice when he’s ready. Because when he’s on he’s fucking beautiful to watch
damnatio_memoriae
so i guess he relapsed while he was in miami?

Shocker

That’s a bummer, I’m sorry to hear that. Hope this time sticks for him. He might have a few years of hockey left but he has a family and the rest of his life and I hope it’s not plagued by addiction
TickTockMan666
Good for you Kuzy! Thank you for everythkng!
YourWeekendDad
Hopefully this gives him the help he needs, and he can get back to enjoying the game and playing at the level he’s capable of.
