  1. I'll be cheering for the Winnipeg Jets in this year's playoffs too! Go Jets Go!
    and by the way…
    Let's go "Team Tank"!!!!

  2. Hey Drew, Gignac is pronounced Gee-Niac. A hard G followed by an I sound will generally be spelled GUI and not GI. GI is a soft G. I know it's complicated lol.

  3. Why would you guys be cheering for the Jets? I'd rather have a higher 1st round pick for sure lol

  4. For me, the Monahan trade is an indication to me that the powers that be have decided it's time to "not on purpose but on purpose" try to better their draft lottery position. BUT also, time to give players a viewing…be it AHL players promoted, bringing Reinbacher over for an NHL taste, signing Hutson and giving him some NHL experience, testing Newhook at Center, helping Arber get his mojo back, etc etc. I'm getting a feeling the trade deadline will be a rather quiet one for the Habs, and any major changes will be made in the off season. This is a good opportunity for MSL to teach Suzuki, Caufield, Guhle, as leaders, to deal with this last stretch to the end and try to have them continue to mature into their important roles for this franchise. And to push Slaf into finishing off the season strong.

  5. Hughes turned 2 years of Monahan into 2 first rounders. This is how you rebuild a team. This team has a bright future. It's a late pick, but theres a bunch of good D that are projected to be available.

  6. I think Monahan is a great team player, very talented. Hughes made the right decision to trade Sean, don't forget he had major injuries. Who knows, he may come back after the season. The Habs have a lot of respect for Sean.

  7. While the Jets are my 2nd favorite team, I blame that on working in Manitoba for a couple of years and living with a couple of guys from Winnipeg, so was forced to watch Jets games, but it was OK it was in the days of Selanne so was some pretty entertaining hockey.

Having said that, what is better? A 2024 1st round pick at 32 and a 2027 3rd round pick if they win the cup? Or a 2024 top 20 1st round pick if the Jets go out in the first round? Or does it matter?

I know, I know, unlikely, but then that's what they said about Boston last year.

I think drafting in the top 5 is (or at least finishing in the top 5). They are only 1pt up on Minnesota, and only 6 points up on Ottawa. If those 2 teams went by them, then they would be in 5th. Columbus is also 6 pts back, but not so sure they are getting on their horse like Ottawa seems to be doing.
