But why? What was the alternative?
A repeat of what happened with Johnny Kovacevic last year. This is why the front office needed to deal with this blue line log jam in the off-season. The Jets once again lose a young, talented defenseman, that they spent time developing, for nothing. And all the while, Stanley and Schmidt, who don't possess Chisholm's playmaking and skating talents, get protected. Just makes no sense. Now they most definitely do need to trade for an actual top 4 defenseman.
I hate giving up a player for nothing. GO JETS GO!
