Nic Dowd on the way out before the deadline? Other players want to punch Tom Wilson?!?

In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about how all eyes are on Nic Dowd as the trade deadline approaches. The marekt at center is said to be pretty thin and if the Capitals are sellers, it appears as though Dowd is on his way out. Later Dan talks about Tom Wilson playing in his second all-star game. This year he’s playing in his hometown in Toronto. In the final segment Dan talks about a poll that was done in The Athletic talking about which player they would like to punch. Tom Wilson was one of the players they’d like to punch – one player even said he would like to punch Tom in the face.

  1. Moving Nick Dowd unless we get a quality Top 6 forward is a bad deal. He is one of the best 2 way players on the team and, IMO, is the best defensive forward on the team. Trading Dowd would be a stupid move.

  2. Said from start of the season this not a playoff team.and let's start the rebuild so when they move into the new area .they be a playoff team.

  3. Dowd needs to be paid more than he is making. He is one of the best, if not the best, defensive forward and deserves a raise.

  4. I love arguing about how good Tom Wilson is with the haters. Nothing like adding 2 time AllStar to Stanley Cup champion. It much to say after that. Especially Ryan Reeves fans.

  5. keep dowd!!
lundgrin could get us a player from nj who can score , retain 50 % salary on kuzy(only two years) get a first from colorodo , paciretty back to carolina for a 2nd …………bring up the lkds and still make playoffs,
also john carlson is caps MVP. imo.

  6. Moving Dowd has it's ups and downs. On the positive you'd definitely get a surprising (especially to non Caps fans) return for a player of his caliber and is an admittance that this season is lost and we're buying in on future season success.
On the downside, Dowd is a solid player and a real heart and soul guy that can help bring some of your up and coming players and mentor bottom 6 players.
