That 1PP unit had 2 future 100-point players, a Norris trophy winner, a future Selke finalist/40-goal scorer and an 80-point player. That was a really good team and I’m so sad we never got to see them together long enough to make a deep playoff run.

Good times. I will forever miss Johnny, Mony and Gio.
That said, I am excited for the future built by Conroy and Iginla. GFG

Sure they were fun to watch but no cups were won-

Looking forward I’m excited to see some of the young players get more time and experience to n the ice. crossing fingers we have a couple diamonds in the rough that need polishing. Things are very different even from a year/beginning of the season. Conny is doing great so far. Still think we need better owners though.

The single best line in the salary cap era, it really was something

A great group of players. Was fun to have them here. But they didn’t win big.

Oilers fan coming in peace.
I think you guys got a great return on that trade. But I have to be honest: I’m kind of bummed too. That 2022 playoff series between Edmonton and Calgary was some of the best hockey I can remember in a very long time, though the coaches probably didn’t agree. Now I fear we won’t get another one any time soon. I have the feeling that we’ll be feeling the effects of a cap crunch right as you’re coming back into contention.
Here’s hoping for another great series though.

Nah, regular season cup cakes. Could never win more than 5 games in the playoffs.
I loved watching them in the regular season but we would likely still be in this cycle of early playoff exits and most of those guys would be about to start leaving their prime.
I’m excited to see who our next starts are.

Something told me 2022 was the best we would see of them. The tunnel hug was absolutely the “this is the beginning of the end” moment for me and I can’t explain why.
