I don’t know what they are smoking but I guess they have to pretend there is a chance to keep interest going for team Hughes, etc. lol. I don’t even know if Hughes is in one piece at this point, when did we get the last update? 2 weeks ago?

Maybe they’ll toss him on the bench as a coach
Imagine the outcry if he played and got hurt in the game. Guy would never recover with the fans from that. He needs to put his foot down.
He was at that event they had a week or two ago and seemed alright.
Hughes very likely just wants to play a game with his brother and loves 3 on 3. This tracks, honestly. If he is all clear, it actually could be a good bit of practice for him
For the NHL he is a media darling, so having him there, playing or not, is a win
For us, it’d be nice to see a Devil on ice represented, so looking more likely that won’t happen
Here’s the thing: he was probably 99% ready but the team wanted him at 100% before he played. They probably said “hey listen, you’ll be back right after the all star break after the week off”
We gotta remember, there is over a week between our last game and the all star game. If he was cleared in that time, he has no reason not to play. It’s his decision and a very low risk one. The issue I would have would be if he skated at the all star game and then didn’t play when he returned back to Jersey.
Hughes took a really scary fall in last year’s ASG thanks to one of the Tkachuk brothers. I remember thinking he was lucky not getting hurt. He should stay away from this year’s game.

To be fair, it’s hard to get an update from Lindy when he is ranting about how bad Holtz is playing all the time. “Lindy, do you have a Jack update for us?” “Yea, yea one sec, did you see how Holtz passed in not the exact angle I told him, that’s why I benched him with 17:47 to go in the first period”

Seriously though, I think other teams are figuring out if they make it a point to target Hughes he will at least get frustrated and thrown off his game. His 2 latest injuries were self-inflicted, but he’s always at risk
The way I look at it is if the team clears him to play in the All Star game, the game could be an excellent opportunity for him to warm up and get back into a groove after how long he’s been out, and I think playing with Quinn would go a long way in helping that. We’ve all seen Jack take a bit to get going again after returning from injury and we need him to get back to himself ASAP.
Might be a hot take, but I think it would be complete bullshit by Jack if he plays in this game. And bullshit by the team if they allow it.
I mean so do we but let’s wait until we can get full Jack Hughes and not Great Value Jack Hughes
