In terms of Hanifin, as nice as he would be long term (retool/rebuild), I wouldnt bank on him signing a deal in the offseason if the Flames arent contending for the next couple years and given that he might not want to stick around in Calgary. So Hanifin may very well need to be traded. Lindholm and Tanev are definite trade pieces.
Might be possible for Vancouver to get both Tanev and Lindholm in one swoop if the price is right going back to Calgary. If that happens, Canucks would skyrocket their chances at the Cup….. only hurdle will be Bettman lol

The smart play for Calgary would be trade all three of these players. The trouble is that most contending teams this season lack cap space.
I think lindholm would fit in perfectly on that Vancouver team and could assist in a deep playoff (Maybe cup) run. And tanev is someone who I've always thought would be PERFECT in toronto, obviously they'd have some salaries to move around but tanev would he worth a lot to the leafs because they can score they just can't keep the score
They should go scorched earth. Team should be good again by the time new arena is made.

I am not a good judge of these things, I can't tell whether he Flames are a good team underachieving, or an okayish team overachieving.
i hope the canucks get tanev. he's such a hard worker and great player. lindholm would be great as well but i'm more hoping for tanev

Deal none, or deal all, that is the choice. If you'e going to start a rebuild, do it with as much draft capital as possible. I feel bad for CC, because, he might initiate the rebuild, get it going, then get fired just before it takes off and some other GM will get all the credit, which is just the way it works these days.
I'd like to see Seattle make a move for Tanev, uniting him with his brother Brandon. They have several serious prospects to trade for him, without weakening their NHL roster, and some expiring UFA contracts that would allow them to resign him.

I wanted jets be in one of those flames but definitely rather see them go cheaper options or depth guys like Seeler,Tinordi,Gostisbehere plus a center like Henrique,TylerJohnson,Nelson,Laughton/Jenner I think Guentzel will cost to much.
I see Ottawa trying make move for Tanev but if he sign and trades price will go up.
Lindholm based off contract if flames eat $$ same with Monahan in Montreal retain 50% price will be high.

I love all these guys, but we need a hard re-tool at the very least. Keep guys like Weegar and Shary to kind of build around, but major sell with the first few guys you mentioned.

Tanev should have been re-signed last summer the day after they re-signed Backstrom and a week after they traded the players making unreasonable contract demands.

Bruins aren't going for Lindholm, we'd love to have him but their isn't a place for him. It would destroy the chemistry.

We need to fully embrace the rebuild. Enough of just missing the playoffs and getting mid 1st round draft pics. That’s what is killing this team
They need to trade as many as they can, for good returns too, but I would like to see them keep hanafin… with him, Anderson and kylington I think we have a good D core. As for goalies we should trade either vladar or markstrom. I think it depends on how good wolf is. If he's legit nhl material perhaps keep Marky as a mentor.
Re tool on the fly. Not an earth shaking move, just a tweak or two. Then have the team jell around making the playoffs.
