Love News of the Day !!
Oilers fan here,, Its all good with the streak but there will be some tweaking in March, a solid stay at home right shot D would be my pick ! Lets see whats available
Enjoy your vacation with your wife and kids Shannon, you've worked really hard for it. đ
thanks shannon ,for your continued best efforts in all NHL reporting !
Utube must pay great ! Congratulations on your success and all your vacations !
As a Canucks fan, I hate Canucks fan that are gloating about how the Canucks are the best blah blah blah. This is the first season in a long time and it's fine to enjoy it and be happy and proud of the team but let's not get an inflated ego over this. They could easily go on a long losing streak and those same fans will be calling for blood.
I'm a Flames fan . I don't like the Oil . But the streak is impressive and I do hope they break the record .
Better watch that Poehling signing since DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants might say thatâs too much money for a team thatâs not going to make it past round 2 lol whatta casual
Oilers are 26 – 3 in the last 29 games, 16 straight wins. Skinner has won 12 straight games allowing no more than 1 or 2 goals. Itâs not luck..yes played some weaker teams but not all, they are playing that good defensively.
Letâs see how they do against Vegas, in Vegas after the break. What a game that will be!
Nice salute to Brock , Shanny!
Working hard pays off đȘ
30 before the break is to be saluted đ«Ą
In case no one has said it yet, Poehling scored a hat trick, then a shoot out goal, in his first NHL game. (4 goals but one of them doesn't count in his career stats)
Trouba fine is BS! Letâs go Rangers!!
During the Oilers 8 game winning streak they beat Vegas, Jets, Hurricanes, during their 16 game winning streak they have beat Rangers, Flyers, Leafs, Kraken, Lightning, Predators. Saying the Oilers have only faced and beat bottom league teams during their winning streak(s) is just not true. Also alot of the top teams in each division have lots some games to bottom out of the playoff teams yet Oilers have not so far.
6:00 … I saw someone on The Athletic comment section for their power rankings video. An Avs fan claimed there wasn't a single team ranked ahead of the Avs that he was scared to play against. I said that as a Canucks fans, there were eight or so teams I would be worried to play against in the playoffs. There's no team that is clearly better than the rest. Even the 'best' team in the league is only one or two injuries from being the underdog in any potential playoff match-up.
why is it becoming okay to suspend players based on injury/outcome? This is a recent trend and becoming concerning.
The Myers penalty wasnât them getting the wrong guy. It was them calling a completely different penalty on Cole that happened after the Myers hit and then deciding to ignore the cole penalty and give a different penalty to Myers instead
To me, seeing the Oilers winning halfway through the season means nothing if they lose in the 2nd round again. If that happens, they need to ship off someone huge. They can't get away with a lack of depth up front, a pretty shit blue-line, and a mixed bag in net for the rest of the year. They need to go big at the deadline if they want a legit chance at winning. Get a goalie, get a defenseman, get a 3rd line center that'll help your depth tremendously. Oilers are a lucky team being able to bounce back after the god awful start to the year, but they still have every one of those players from that god awful start. They might know how to win now, but it will not click in the playoffs unless they somehow get L.A. again, but they're getting bounced easy by a team like Colorado, Dallas, or Vegas.
Someone needs to put Trouba in his place. Iâm a huge fan of physicality in the NHL but feel he is out there trying injure intentionally.
How about that weekend back to back between BC & BU? The top two ranked teams in the country …
Canucks aren't playing the "best" of their season currently. So it stands to reason they wouldn't be the best team. They have cracks in the armor, and I'm pretending not to notice. When they have their full team at peak they look amazing.
This is a bit off topic but the Edmonton section made me think about it.. I've noticed in every hockey channels comment sections people have been increasingly hostile/arrogant/emotional/tribal when talking to opposing fans. People say some pretty nasty & personal things if they disagree on a goal, penalty, win/loss, everything. If this pertains to anyone reading this, I beg you, please lighten up. It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. If you can't handle reading a jokey comment or different opinon without berating someone then maybe it's time to log off and take a break. Let's try to lighten up a bit & not get so invested in some meaningless comment from a random stranger on the internet. Thank you & God bless.
On those people who just say hot takes or fanatical comments all the time, the reason why they do that is because those comments DON'T come back to haunt them because they're just nobodies, not YouTubers with large followings.
If you make the assumption that the Oilers will keep going in their winning ways (I know I know, dont make any assumptions but the record is there) the Canucks are technically only 4 points ahead of them in the standings. With the tough schedule/roadtrip after the all star break for the Canucks it can be predicted that the Canucks will make the play-offs however not in the first place (2nd at best). And the way the Canucks have been playing in the last couple weeks hasnt been that impressive either.
A friend lives in an area with Boston fans everywhere. He's a Leaf fan like me. When Boston does well they're insufferable, but when Toronto beats them they avoid coming to work.
Myers was a punk for what he did to Beniers last year and still is!
As a Nucks fan I agree with Myers major it was lowkey dirty he knew what he was doing, too bad for CBJ we killed the b^tch off and Won!
the goal continuation thing makes sense. If the puck is already in motion it should be allowed to finish if it is a goal regardless if a whistle goes. Just like a buzzer beater in the NBA (I think there could even be an argument for the same kind of buzzer beater in the nhl as long as the puck is in motion a the time the clock hits 0.00)
Have a great vacation!
Myers getting in trouble for a dirty hit? That NEVER happens…
He had a goal in the shootout as well same game.
Be excited but be humble. Respect your opponents and their fan base and do your research and don't blindly be annoying. If it were easy opponents, how come other teams in the upper echelon of the league couldn't do it.
Kings nation though, rough times in LA LA Land. I don't know if they can turn it around? Seems like they are in a rut.
The algorithm cometh
That âcontinuation goalâ was rubbish. đ
Hardest working man in hockey news!!!
Rangers in the market for a center. They have about $5.5 million of cap space.
don't say you're the best all time, good point Shannon. Sometimes if you talk crap (true or not) and things dont work out, you may have to eat it.
âNHL does not want to take goals off the boardâ? What about last night disallowing the Toronto goal when it was clear Nylander was pushed into to goalie?
Trouba's suspension is bs. He was playing the puck and there was no penalty even handed out in the game.
