Monahan is a Hab
That was a really fun game derailed by the nasty elbow from Gally. No idea what he was doing there. Pelech’s head was down, but I’ve always thought it’s bullshit to excuse dangerous hits just because a player’s not fully upright. I’m expecting 3-6 games?
On the brighter side, almost the entire top six (minus Armia) looked great for much of tonight. Fantastic bounce back effort and they never stopped pressing, even with the penalty box parade tonight. Loved Monahan’s game, plus lots of fire from Slaf tonight and Caufield continuing his hot streak with a beautiful goal!
Quick shoutout to Savard and Montembeault too, both of whom were absolutely vital to this one. Not sure how Monty didn’t get the third star, but plenty of pats from his teammates at least.

If Gallagher is not suspended I hope MSL scratch him for a couple of games. This was disgraceful and stupid.
That was a gutsy win tonight. Our boys were working on their defensive coverage and they stuck to it. Again, our top goal-scorers showed up and I’m happy.
Now, I think what MSL should do is probably talk to Brendan Gallagher after he does serve his suspension. I mean, never have I or anybody here see him react that way.
Sean Monahan is going to get us a HAUL at the deadline. But I don’t wanna see him go
*GOOD*
– Excellent game from Monahan, as is usually the case. I understand the circumstances but a team that lacks forwards moving him for a late first doesn’t do much for me. All hypothetical of course but it better be a haul. Hey maybe the player habs get will be half as good as Sean Monahan!
– Powerplay was balling. That first goal with the slick pass from Slafkovsky to Suzuki for the tap in really nice. 4 on 4 was good as well as Caufield continues his point streak.
– Shot blocking. Lots of players, Savard in particular.
– Fourth line was buzzing and drew some penalties. Always have eyes on a new player Condotta did a good job.
– Montembeault again this game isn’t 3-0 without some of his saves, good bounce back after the Boston debacle.
– Finished their chances.
*BAD*
– He is not a dirty player Gallagher but that hit was dirty as anything. The thing is he routinely gets bad penalties. He is honestly a liability out there already, and before you get mad at me I understand he’s been a trooper over the years, but the liability has been apparent for a while and it’s pretty obvious.
– 3-0 was not safe once again.
I hate other teams’ players when they do shit like that, and it’s hard not to even when it’s ours. Disgraceful stuff.
I hope Adam Pelech heals well. Did not deserve that.
At the end of the day a regulation in the Bell Centre. Now to prepare for Sidney Crosby and company.

2nd time this year that Gally costs us (or nearly costs) us a game because of a stupid dangerous play. He needs to sit even when he comes back from his upcoming suspension. Such a plug.
I was looking down at my phone reading comments and something caught my eye, one of my wife’s hairs was between my index finger and my phone. I threw it on the floor, but we’ll vacuum it up one day soon.
I hate how Monahan is called a 3rd liner on a good team or stated to be worth a second.
