  1. People question at times what Robertson is doing, I question what Keefe is doing practically all the time

  2. Keefe has tunnel vision and clearly can't see what he has in this young player. Robertson has 7 goals in 26 games, Domi and Bertuzzi have 10 goals between them in 43 games. Keefe needs a good kick in the ass, it's time to move on from him. Just my opinion.

  3. I have nothing against small players. My favourite as a boy was Dave Keon. However, if you're not Keon, Mikita, Gilmour, etc. I have no interest in just another talented small forward. I would move Robertson, Cowan, 1st draft pick for a top 4 defenceman.

  4. So, I don't crack. Can someone explain why we're talking about trading a half point per game kid making under $800k and he hasn't even scratched the surface for his potential? Idk, maybe crack is a good idea.

  5. Robertson is too small to be effective in playoffs. It is really immaterial about the bottom six. You can fill out a roster of 6 , 20 to 30 point players easilly and cheaply _ what the Leafs are doing now. There success or failure, as with most NHL teams, is based on the core 5 players and goaltending. The Leafs really have been outgoaltended in all of the playoff series in Matthew / Marner era. The core has not shown the determination or will to win thus far in the playoffs, which are a totally different brand of hockey than regular season. Enjoy their talent and entertainment value in the winter. But as for winning in the playoffs, they don't have it. A 50 plus Leaf fan.

  6. Am a Robertson fan and just frustrated with the way hes treated by fans and media and his coach. Go on him for getting the winner last night a good 🖕to the coaching staff. As a leafs Fan my biggest thing the bugs me is how fast we give up on the young kids. Robertson has more goals than Bert and Domi they be dumb to trade him GO LEAFS GO great show Andrew and nice to see the jersey up and picture in the back

  7. Would love to see them give Robertson a try on that top line with Matthews/Marner. They gave Holmburg a chance and it couldn't be worse than that. The leafs need to start to give opportunity to these younger guys who can fill in the gaps like Robertson.

  8. I absolutely agree with resigning but only for under a million. A no risk prove yourself deal and they need to hire a coach with more experience than Keefe. Keefe doesn't know how to develop talent at the NHL, he's too worried about imediacy and wants to win every game instead of giving guys with potential some opportunity. Keefe's idea of giving a young guy a shot is 2 periods with the top line and unless they've assisted on 2 matthews goals and made 100% passes, he'll say yeah we tried it, didn't really work out. Him and Dubas were always so short sighted and thats why they were never able to see the bigger picture and its why we lost talents that bloomed elsewhere like Hyman, Moore, Marchment, Durzi, Kadri, the list goes on. The reason why they protected KERFOOT to let MCCANN go to seattle.

Also, fun fact, if you needed one to get my point about Keefe: robertson is currently at around 1.5 goals per 60. Tavares is at around 0.8/9 goals per 60. How can Keefe not see that the guy should be given more of a look, or even Domi for that matter. Keefe coaches Tavares like its his son and he refuses to drop him to a 3rd line if he's not producing

  9. Keefe: We need depth scoring
Leafs brass" Drafts and develops a young kid who is definitely a depth scorer with a higher ceiling
Keefe: No, fuck that kid, scratches him constantly

  10. Interesting, Andrew likes his potential, the coaching staff puts him different situations to see what he can do and his mental

  11. Right now I would fire Sheldon 10 times over before I trade Robertson. It would be completely moronic to trade a guy still not in his prime yet and still scoring goals right now. Last I checked you win games by scoring goals and Robertson does just that.

  12. Keep Robertson. He fits on that 3rd line real well. He scores. He's cheap. He's young. He'll develop. It's Reaves, Bertuzzi, that have been disappointments. Big contracts too. Leafs can easily free up 10 million if they do not resign Tavares. Johnny looks like he is slowing down big time. He's lost a step. His production is down. His faceoff % is down.

  13. It passes me off how coaches decide for whatever reason that they don't like a player. Babcock did this. Nick will not get a fair shake on the Leafs team. It looks liSheldon, for whatever reason has decided he doesn't like him. It doesn't seem to matter how well Nick plays. Sheldon has already made up his mind. For Nick's own good it would probably be better for him if he was traded. Sheldon is a jerk. He should set his personal feelings aside and coach the team.

  14. Trading Nick Robertson makes no sense. His cost is low. And with the Big4 earning way too much of the team salary, this team needs to hold onto young guys who can contribute and don't cost much.
The Leafs have a recent history of trading away young guys with contract and keeping guys with expiring contracts and bringing in more guys with expiring contracts. Look at last year — who do they have left of guys the brought in?? 1 guy. And everyone else walked. And the guys they traded away are still playing elsewhere.
Inexcusable lack of any vision of the future. They keep paying the Big4 more than they are worth — they do not play 60 min games and some nights they just do not show up. Which is why I will not be the least bit surprised if the Leafs do not make the playoffs despite having the leading goal scorer and Nylander having a career year.

  15. Their so mean to that kid hes not getting enough ice team put him with knies n matthews n willy or something

  16. Lafferty is succeeding because he is playing for a good NHL coach. If he were playing for Keefe he would be another replaceable forth liner. The Marchment trade was on Dubas. Dubas was and is completely blind to the value of a player like Marchment. Robertson is an injury prone defensively irresponsible player. He has a great shot but given the Leafs current lineup it is hard to fit him in. No doubt he will go to a team with a good coach who demands defensive play and will immediately become a Selke candidate. None of the trades you mentioned help the Leafs. A defenseman of his caliber is a 5 or 6th guy. The Leafs have tons of them. If they could trade Robertson for a young second pair player, that is a trade you make all day everyday. The guy they should have moved for a defenseman was Nylander, for a top pair guy, but that is water under the fridge.

  17. Jt has 1 more year on contract then I say get rid of him, trade out Brodie, Jarnkrok and Kampf and McMann for some solid defense like Hanafin , send Giordano down or keep as 7th D and bring up Niemala (yes he is ready).

  18. Leafs are not going to trade anybody. They wanted to trade Nylander for a top D but none were available that were suitable. They decided to wait until next year and sign Nylander. It may even be the following year until they make a serious move as contracts need to expire on big guys like Tavares. The Leaf management blew the mission by signing these huge contracts and blowing all the cap on a small group of players.

  19. If I’m Robertson I’d ask for a trade , he will never crack the top 6 IMO , not because he doesn’t have the talent it’s the other guys have the minutes. The leafs are a average team at best and it’s showing, if they keep things the way they are they most definitely will get bounced in the first round , hell they can barely beat the Ducks and Seattle. There is no identity to this team . Time for a shake up
