  1. Here goes Florio again. But if a player fumbles a ball and it goes out-of-bounds I think it normally comes back to where the player fumbled if it goes forwards or where it went out if it goes backwards. I think that’s the rule. I might be off a bit. Now I think if a player fumbles forwards into the end zone there should be three scenarios:

    1. It goes out the back of the end zone. This should be opposing team’s ball at the 20. (This is like a Black Hole-singularity thing in Physics as it’s undefined.)
    2. It goes out the side of the end zone. Ball comes back to fumble spot with offense maintaining possession.
    3. Ball recovered by either team. Whichever team recovers gets it. Offense: back to fumble spot — remember Kenny Stabler? Defense: touchback and they get possession.

If “my” rule were implemented it would’ve remained Chiefs ball at around the 1-yard line.

  2. Bro. They tried to make a “Rudy” remake starring Damar Hamlin in the middle of a playoff game at home.

Only reason why folks aren’t laughing at it more is because Mecole Hardman’s CTE flared up at the 1 yard line.

  3. Hardman needs to kiss the feet of Bass..he almost cost the Chiefs the win. Stupid play. Trying to get the TD, get the glory. You are paid to hold that darn ball, so do it. That would have been a 1st and goal and the Bass kick would not have mattered. But ego i guess. Someone needs to set him straight.

  4. I really thought Florio would be talking about how they overturned when there wasn’t clear and obvious evidence on this play

  5. As a Chiefs fan, I am over the Mecole Hardman jet-sweeps. The dude can't hold onto the ball (fumbled on the same exact play earlier in the game, but Chiefs recovered it) and he rarely gets more than a yard even when he does hold onto it.

  6. football is the only sport the does not reward the defense for forcing the offense to lose possession of the ball out of bounds. very unserious sport

  7. Not a casual fan; I wasn't mad at the rule….I was mad at Hardman being so careless with the football. You're a yard from paydirt! Every player knows the importance of not fumbling in the end zone!!! Hold onto the ball instead of a rule change to compensate for neglectful play.

  8. I mean they tried to change the over time rules and it didnt change til it happened to Josh Allen. So let’s wait until then

  9. I'm a Chiefs fan and I will be straight up. I don't think they should change the rule. Mecole knows the rule, don't be dumb with the football. You should be punished for fumbling the ball there and be punished harshly.

  10. The end zone is called the end zone for a reason. That's the end of the possession for the offense. There is either a touchdown for the offense or a touchback for the defense.

  11. I thought it was "call stands" too close to see imo to overturn the call. Bad play call tho, just run it up the middle!

  12. Dont change this rule. The league already have changed enough rules. We lost the ball its the rule.

  13. No need to change the rule. Floria is trying to find a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

  14. Its common sense that if you lose the ball out of the scoring area that the ball should go to the other team, hell I'd even go so far as giving a ten yard penalty when teams get lucky and the ball goes out on the sideline.

  15. Hang on to the ball. The defense shouldn’t be penalized either. You fumble without impunity? Bet the KC fans weren’t bitching when Cleveland fumbles couple years ago in the playoffs against them. Most of the time this happens when the player reaches the ball out. And it kinda looked like that’s what he was doing here. This is one rule that’s fine like it is.
