Um I don’t know quick synopsis of how you felt since you’ve been back and sort of the progress you’ve made yeah um definitely starting to feel uh a lot better out there a lot more confident um I think just as a team as a whole I
Think we’re uh getting to uh you know the way we want to play a little bit more I think forward are doing a great job uh you know getting on top of their D especially last game before checking so as a defenseman that uh makes it
Easier for us to you know get up into play and have a better Gap and I think that that’s um you know what I need to do in order to to feel at my best out there and um yeah like I said as a team as a whole we’ve been getting to our
Game so it’s it’s been uh it’s been nice since coming back would you I mean would you agree that the last few games have maybe been the best games of the year for you yeah definitely yeah um yeah just a lot more confident and I think uh
You know just being more assertive out there it’s talking with the coaches um that only you know that enables me like I said to to join the rush but also have a better Gap defensively and I think that when I’m uh you know having that sort of mindset switch um you know
That’s that’s been beneficial I think the last couple games so um certainly feel a lot more like myself now so hopefully just get on a little bit of roll here and um we got some tough competition coming up so got to make sure to stay aggressive and and uh you know
Keep playing well and Charlie’s playing great uh you know as my partner so that that makes things a lot easier for sure are you speaking of Charlie is this some of the best hockey you’ve seen him play this year I know like fans are like well
Where’s the points but you know I don’t think they’re looking closely enough at what he’s supposed to do and how he’s actually doing that yeah you said it I mean he’s uh I think he’s taken on a leadership role uh more too so that’s been uh
You know I’m sure weighting on him um but he he’s handled that extremely well and um I just think the game in general U PK PP plays in all situations plays against the top lines uh he’s asked to do it at both end in the ice said um you
Know we as defenseman get to see you know each game um you know what the ask is of him and he’s up for the challenge every night so it’s uh it’s impressive to see sort of his trajectory he’s been on did you when when you were playing
With him at you I mean I know kind of when you’re younger everybody’s focused on offense flash what have you highlights and all but were there little things you noticed that you said this this kid’s got it like he’s going to he’s going to go places yeah I mean yeah
It’s tough to say like I mean I think he’s one of the best defenser in the world it’s it’s tough when you’re you know 17 you to say uh you know that he’s going to be quite that good you you never know how someone’s going to handle
The next step but uh one thing he’s always been is a gamer and uh he’s had that just kind of had that it Factor since he was young and we saw that right away when he’s a freshman so um it’s really not a huge surprise to see it
Seems like each year he takes another step um he adds something to his game a little bit I think this year he’s been uh a little bit you know more offensive I’d say minded and he’s still uh you know very capable on his own end and and
Asked to shut down uh a lot of uh you know the team’s top so it’s uh it’s really impressive to see and I’m you know extremely happy for him all right back to you and I get it if you can’t talk about it but I mean has the
Contract been in your mind at all or is that you know what I it actually hasn’t um then I’m sorry I brought it up no no you never know how it’s going to you know play out I guess in um the summer before you may be thinking about it but
Um once you in season yeah I just been trying to play better I think you know kind of I got off to a pretty good start and then once I I got hurt I I started taking a step back a little bit I think that was more of a mindset switching in
Anything and um you know I’m trying to play a little bit better now but just one game at a time that’s kind of my focus so I know it’s kind of a cliche but um no it really hasn’t crept up I mean we’ve even when you were out like
With all that time on your hands or no yeah I mean I’m spending most of my time thinking about you know getting back up am I am I going to be healthy uh yeah things like that but no it hasn’t popped up obviously it’s I’ve only played for one team and it’s my
Childhood dream to play for this team so um I know exactly where I want to be for sure and this place is uh it’s been special to not only play for the Bruins but just to play on such good teams every year and it’s something that uh I
Definitely don’t take for granted so I I mean it’s a long ways away but I mean you have to say like wow what would it be like to be with another team because it’s just I don’t even all I something to think about it yeah it’s too weird I
Mean I’ve just like I said I’ve only you know I’ve been a Bruins fan my whole life so um I’ve kind of grown up with that and it’s all I’ve known since I’ve been out of college so um hopefully that day doesn’t come and um I’m going to try
