*Nuclear hot take:* Nothing gets done with goaltending, coaching, or defense until the offseason.
So the rest of the regular season, and sure, why the hell not, playoffs, will be a complete rollercoaster.
The company involved with creating video highlights / recaps had technology issues that are now resolved, so the Devils’ game recap is back.

Fire Lindy
Fire Lindy
At this point I have to believe that the reason that Fitzy hasn’t fired Lindy is because he knows that ownership has him under the gun right now. We literally just extended Lindy while he was on an optional year. That would be a complete embarrassment as a manager and a waste of your owner’s money. That might be close to career suicide honestly.
Positive takeaways:
– not shut out (if that matters to you)
– one game closer to the end of the season
– technically, we do still have a goalie with a hot hand to ride (do you belieVVe?)
– both Luke and Nemec have avoided major injury (so far) as they violently crash into the rookie wall
– Brylin works for the team, so he would have had to sit through that shit whether we were honoring him or not. At least he came away from this all with a nice watch
End of positives. That sucked. This all sucks. I really want to get back to this team not sucking and maybe even being, y’know, remotely enjoyable.
Fuck.
I have hit the point in the year where I’m avoiding this place, especially after losses like that. Can only listen to people talk about firing the coach to fix the team for so long. I will add, I don’t necessarily have full faith in Ruff, but this season has been a perfect mixture of disasters to add up to complete mediocrity.
Most things have been said already, but I am still honestly confused by why Daws was left in the net to get six goals hung on him.
Found it really interesting yesterday when Dano and Sal were talking about how well Dallas played with a lead and made a point to mention that it’s a sign of a well-coached team.
Not saying they were taking shots at anyone but last year the Devils were exceptional and relentless at defending a lead and for some reason this year they’ve just resorted to getting caved in after getting a lead early. I’d love to know if that’s an intentional (and bad imo) strategy from Lindy because he does trust the personnel enough to keep pushing play.
