  1. Crazy, and early in the season they were struggling. Im not a Oilers fan but i never did like Jay Woodcroft. Lol

  2. Fan of Edmonton Oilers and Ottawa Senators from Fiji🇫🇯. 13 wins – but now hope for 18 wins from Edmonton.

  3. Not only did they get the most consecutive wins in NHL history, but Skinner also tied Fuhr with 10 straight wins! What a historic night! Would be great if they can beat the penguins record to make it a Canadian record! 🤞

  4. Watching (listening) to you back-pedal on the Oilers is very satisfying. The gloat at the beginning of the season was very palpable. The fact they did this against your team puts a cherry on top. 😊

  5. My OILERS team is a complete team! 13 straight wins beating the Canadian record. Stuart Skinner ties GRANT FUHR record of 10 straight wins.

  6. As an Oilers fan, I still think the Montreal record is still more impressive. They had draws back then, no sudden death overtime. Nevertheless, its been an impressive streak, and whats cool about it is it's due to our outstanding defence and keeping as much as the attack.

  7. FAKE NEWS the Toronto Maple Leafs have a 16 game win streak between the 1999-2000 season and this season I can’t remember exactly what season it was

  8. The most impressive thing about this streak is how well defensively we’ve been and depth scoring we’re getting. All things considered our weaknesses are now strengths good stuff.

  9. An asterisk has to be put beside the record because Montreal did it all in regulation time, there were ties back then.

I remember that season. Toe Blake was Coach, he would retire at the end of the season. I believe at the time Toe Blake said coaching was much harder because the league was changing and player attitudes. There still wasn't a Player's union yet in the league. Montreal was in last place at Christmas and fans were mad…..maybe we needed to change coaches.

In early January, Coach Emile Francis brought in the Rangers to face the Habs and the magic started. Montreal was unbeatable during January, roaring out of missing the playoffs to winding up in first place at the end of the season.

Montreal were to meet the Bobby Orr led Bruins and the Chicago Black Hawk transplants (Espo, Hodge & Stanfield). While every game was very close with Boston, Montreal won the series.

Montreal was to meet Red Berenson and Glenn Hall in the Finals.

Glenn Hall stood on his head in that series to keep every game very close. Montreal won in 4 straight.
