What a game last night was.
I only get to see the Leafs once a year, if I’m lucky, as they swing through western Canada. It’s a day I’m always excited for, to see the Buds live in the flesh.
And I got to witness an Auston Matthews hattrick.
Let me tell you, as soon as the crowd recognized AM34 tucked his third, the hats began to flood the rink. What an experience.
Here’s a photo of Leafs Nation rolling deep for warmups.

C of red eh?
MVP chant in an opposing barn is *chefs kiss*
Amazing atmosphere. Leafs should roll through Alberta twice a year.
I missed the game – how many hats landed on the ice after AM hatty?
I love how near the end Calgary had the goalie pulled, had us hemmed in the zone with the extra man, and the fans were still chanting go Leafs go louder than the Flames home crowd.
For some reason the TV broadcast didnt really show the hats on the ice. They must have felt bad.
