this team is so mentally fucked right now. i counted one shift of sustained zone time in this one… did I miss any? any chances that they work into feels like there’s a +60% chance the shot is sailing wide.
teams are easily breaking out, flying through the neutral zone and grinding out shifts, literally every fuckin team. meanwhile, the kings can’t keep a puck in on a pass back to the point. on top of it all… completely zero puck luck. bad puck luck, in fact. i can’t remember a stretch quite like this one, it’s unreal. go kings

I hate hockey right now. I fucking hate watching it. I am jealous of the teams doing well. It makes me fucking sick watching this team. Saturday will be the first game of the season I do not watch.

I’m not in the fire Todd camp just yet, but why not just massively shake up the lines? Genuinely nothing to lose at this point.
Fíala – Dubois – Kempe is a fucking nightmare for any team with the amount of size/speed/skill/playmaking
Moore – Kopi – Byfield. Let Kopi post up and get some rest with second line minutes while the two speedsters get the puck. Also Moore’s finish with Kopi’s passing? Why hasn’t this been a thing ever?
Laf – Danault – Grundy. Big time grinder line with some skill still. Reminiscent of the Stoll/Richards type third lines that won us Cups
JAD – Lewis/Lizzo – Arty.
Lately, Fiala has been way too sloppy with the puck. Whenever Byfield touches the puck it just leads to a turnover or some weird unnecessary scramble that inevitbly leads to nothing offensively. Kopi looking gassed and unable to create or finish his chances.
These big contracts are not pulling their weight atm. Swap Kopi with PLD, bring up Moore to the first line with PLD ; we need huge shakeups with the lines.
Power play is god awful… 100% on the coach.
Truly surreal going from the best I’ve ever seen the Kings play in my lifetime to this. Teams have figured us out, we are mentally wrecked and no changes to the lines or staff… depressing
Team lacked confidence. That sort of thing comes from leadership and coaching. How are they going to fix it? Can’t trade Kopitar or Doughty that only leaves McClellan.
I’m not one to yell “Shoot it!” on the Power Play, or at any time for that matter. Mainly because my Hockey IQ is proooobably around the same number of sexual partners I’ve had. But, goddamn it, if I see one more pass that could’ve been a shot on goal, I might just go back to sniffin’ glue.

Very disappointing. It just seemed like other than a couple people, the team was just a half step behind. I think they are totally in their own heads at the moment.

Watched the first period. Closed the computer. I knew. Went on a super long walk with the dogs. Nice night. Dogs are happy. Acceptance, friends. Management is behind Todd and this is our season.

Oh boy, the trolls will feast tonight. In case you don’t want to read on, I will summarize their words:
PLD has been one of the best looking players these last few games but “let’s dump him”.
Our captain has been slow/invisible, our players are getting great chances but not finishing, but let’s “blame the coach”.
Very tough to watch at the crypt, especially when I took a day off just for this. On the bright side, I bought the last 2 kempe kings collab hats at the team la store!!!!
This team needs a legit scorer. Not mid tier guy like Kempe or Moore but like a legit star forward that can score goals.
Byfield seems to be regressing hard.
PLD needs better line mates.
Father Time has caught up with the Captain.
Holding teams to 2 goals is awesome, when you can score more than 2 goals.
Laferierre is fun to watch.
Goaltending has been solid.
Fire Todd and get a hard ass in the locker room.
Got some signed pucks from the Kings care booth. Picked up American Hero Trevor Lewis and a Grundy signed puck not bad for $30 each. Things I noticed at the game, we keep forcing passes instead of shooting the damn puck. Kopi needs to finish those checks into the boards or there’s no point at all. Shitty passes all game by everyone, constant no look passes just desperation. Byfield needs to nut up and start using his size or throw him on another line. Laf was trying to get things started he seemed like a positive tonight. All in all I don’t regret going to the game even though we lost, wife and I still had a blast.
Was at the game this evening. The Preds played a solid game and I did not expect more than 2 goals out of Saros. Rittich played very well. The team was slow and passing was shit. Doughty was beaten from the outside on 4-5 occasions, I’m sure I’ll get hate, however his play tonight was shit and he tries to do too much all too often. DD has no faith in the younger players too much Sutter in him. I have said this before Kop is aging fast, like some of the other comments, PLD needs to be with better line mates he is skilled and smooth)Kempe and Lafferiere). Kop should play third line center with Grundstrom and QB strong checking. While keeping PD, TM and KF together. Bring up some other youngsters to play with Lewis and trade Kaliev. I do think Todd is the problem, his system is not working and he did coach the Sharks to a reverse sweep 10 years ago, so take that as you will. I did yell FIRE Mclellan and got some reinforcement from other fans and some chuckles. Just frustrated as a fan and fear this season maybe lost in the coming weeks.
