McDavid’s Tape Job vs. Matthews’ Tape Job

Corwin’s latest pregame segment for the Leafs regional broadcast was all about the difference between Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid’s tape jobs. With a particular focus on McDavid’s care-free approach to his in-game tape jobs.

  1. I appreciate the tape related content, Corwin. I also have a thing for tape, which sometimes leads to weird looks, like at the last PWHL game I was at where I was taking pictures of everybody's sticks on the bench so I could study the tape preferences across the team. I was getting different angles and in a couple shots you can see this woman looking at me like I'm a creep, probably thinking I was taking pics of somebody in the crowd, but really I'm just a nerd who wants to look at player's tape preferences. Keep up the good work, bud!

  2. I always used white tape .i felt I could see the puck better on my stick.i guess I’m in good company with McDavid.lol😊

  3. To compare Matthews to McDavid on anything is absurd.
Matthews scored early and became invisible for the night…No compete level, doesn’t hit or back check,no determination to steal the puck.McDavid on the other hand if he isn’t putting up a multi point game he is doing everything in his power to help his team win.Back checking, hitting, chasing and recovering the puck,he is so determined to do what ever it takes to help his team.
So to compare Matthews to McDavid is just total ignorance.McDavid is the best player on the planet by a mile .Matthews might be in the top 10 and that is even pushing it.
