Detroit sports are good again! In the midst of the Detroit Lions excitement, we bring you all the news surrounding the Detroit Red Wings & their winning ways in 2024.
Tune in as we start by recapping their three games, including a tough OT loss against McDavid & the Oilers (and Alex LYon standing on his head), Detroit beating the Kings in Hockeytown this time thanks to Larkin, Kane, Lyon, & others, & a miraculius win in Toronto as Copp scored the game winner (and Raymond sealed) in a contest that the Leafs should have taken easily (5:05). Next, we take a look at the standings as Steve Yzerman & Derek Lalonde’s squad have themselves back in a wild card playoff position (27:30) before discussion the immense load that Moritz Seider & Jake Walman have bared this season (more so than Gostisbehere, Chiarot, Holl, Petry, or any others) (36:40).
After that, thoughts on Lyon, Husso, & Reimer as Yzerman will be getting trade calls (40:55) before discussing our midseason NHL awards (48:14) & lots more before we take your questions and comments during our Overtime segment (1:00:35) – enjoy!

Oh! LGRW 🐙🐙🐙🐙
How about those Lions!?!?🦁🦁🦁
Best Wings Podcast- WWP!
As always thank you for all of the great content.
Evan would be the guy to wear an Arizona State sweatshirt. Love the guy, but he seems like the Arizona State, party school type of frat boy
Toronto fans were pretty miffed about the 4-2 loss. They thought they would cruise to the W with Detroit's travel ailment.
Ben Johnson runs the Lions offense and the teams success (not Campbell). Johnson is only 37 years old, he will be commanding offers for head coach very very soon. Goff's career was resurrected in a modern day riches to rags to riches.
pistons won today too lol
Those hats are pretty sick.. might have to go and get me one. LGRW 🐙 🏒 🤘
bring me chris tanev
God I hate it when there's a cut in the video and you guys faces switch from neutral to chuckling, my OCD can't handle this shit lmao
Why would you not trade for a d? Definitely disagree with that. If a top 4 d that’s young comes available you definitely pick up the phone. You guys just got done saying Seider is being hung out to dry and your answer is stand pat? We’ve had years and years of top 10 picks, time to go out and grab an established d.
As "incomplete" as the red wings roster is as a playoff contender I think Detroit is capable of solidifying that 3rd place in the division. You guys always wanna say oh it's luck or the other teams suck when Detroit plays them. You can literally say that about any team that isn't top of the division elite. I believe if Detroit keeps their point up through this month then I believe we are buying for bottom 6 depth or bottom 3 d men. You could upgrade for either more offensive upside or more defensive security. Upgrade Rasmussen, Kostin, Fischer, Petry, Holl. I'd rather keep Sprong and Veleno but those could be 2 more. As long as the top division leaders keep pushing the oth r r wildcard teams down. I'm hoping our trend can finish this month strong.
Seems crazy to not want to go get a proven NHL top 2 defenseman, if he's under 30 seems like a no brainer. Detroit fans need to learn to not be so attached to the "unknown" with these prospects. Wings are almost in a divisional spot, would hate to see them stay put at this point.
I thought this would be the year for Bunting to finally win the Calder.
We should be trading for an established young defender that can help stabilize the top 4.
And the Pistons WIN! WTF Is going on in Michigan?!
A lot of people don't remember, don't want to remember, or maybe weren't even born yet to remember it…but back in the late 1990s until Holland started emptying our cupboards to try to stay in the playoffs (2014 or so), we "over-ripened" our prospects. They stayed in GR for a few years instead of just a few months. Very few players made that jump to the NHL quickly
Well, some folks might not remember, but Stevie does. That's being replicated right before our eyes. Much like some roast beef in a slow cooker, it'll take some time for guys like Edvinsson, Berggren, Kasper, ASP and others to really be ready. We're at a stage of our rebuild now where we can execute this strategy of development for our prospects. So… no, unless we sell at the deadline, Edvinsson isn't getting significant time unless he's a trade piece. Berggren, same deal. This is part of the Yzerplan, and it's always been a cornerstone of it.
Look… I know I'm beating a dead horse about the dismay towards MSU you all have, but Steven Izzo also scored his very first career bucket so I'm also in a great spot with my school's basketball team lmao
Edvinsson might not be getting called up due to attitude…
You can't hiiiide those LYON EYES, ..
The Eagles
I went to the LA game.. REALLY annoying woman be obnoxious as hell screaming LETS GO KINGS in an ear piercing voice every 15 mins. I was relieved when the Wings destroyed them and she left in the 2nd period. THANK YOU WINGS
Love how you analyze Gatorade flavours like they were players. Lol
I would say Detroits wiped the slate clean from December, that said, this basically puts them even making up for it, so it’s a clean slate for Detroit now. Other teams have games in hand and Detroit has to keep winning
