Georgie needs a solid 10 game stretch. Hes not consistent at all. His stats are not good. Wins are good only cuz he’s got good players on the team. Let’s really hope that our backup lights a damn fire and gets a shutout or something super solid and gains the top spot for 4-5 games. GG needs to wake the f up and this might be the only way to do it

Hopefully, Annunen develops fast and pushes Georgiev. He can't be playing like this come playoffs, or we might get upset. Sucks because this team is capable of winning the cup.
It's hard to win hockey games when you have to score 3+ goals EVERY night just to outscore your goalie problems.

They need a viable backup goalie so they at least can rest Georgiev more… and maybe provide some kind of competition, just a hint of competition would be nice. But most of all, more rest.
Georgiev doesn't need to be .930. He doesn't need to be Hallebyuck or Sorokin, but at this point the Avs offense is tasked with scoring 4 or more goals every night just to have a chance to win and that just isn't a realistic ask. You need to rely on your goalie to only give up 1 or 2 some nights. Darcy Kuemper wasn't the world beater for the Avs that he was for Arizona at times, but he made the saves he needed to and the Avs won the cup because of it.
I am also a firm believer in the Joel Quennville statement, "you don't score on a 5 on 3 you don't win the game." Obviously, nobody will have a 100% conversion rate on 5 on 3s throughout the year, but any 5 on 3 that is 30 seconds or longer you need to score on. It's just too good of an opportunity to not score on.
The avs should have told Chu after his incident in the playoffs last year that he would have to be drug tested every week if he wanted to remain with the team! If I was his teammate I would be pissed at him!
Guys, blaming the goalie is OK. Yes Georgie was not good enough – but please stop with the “have to beat the other guy.” Goalie can only control his GA. It’s just like SP in baseball – you’re only competing against the hitters – not the other pitcher! WINS aren’t a GoALiE StAt.
