Luke Hughes Blatantly Tripped WHERE’S THE CALL?!? A Review and Rant on NHL Officiating

The New Jersey Devils were down 5-4 late in the 3rd Period against the Vancouver Canucks and on a Power Play; J.T. Miller BLATANTLY trips Luke Hughes in open ice and there is no penalty called.

I review the play and the insane non-call here, and go on a rant about NHL Officiating.

  1. its crazy cause the refs had no problem giving the flyers a 5-3 with smiths slash after he was cross checked that allowed them to tie it

  2. That was the fucking worse non call I have ever seen. Luke smashed his head off the fucking ice for fuck sakes. Then Toffoli was tripped up also going to the net and no fucking call. The refs are horrible. I know I am biased but it seems like The Devils get the shaft always. I know it is across the league but i watch alot of games and it seems more frequent in Jersey.

  3. We probably would've tied it if we were given that penalty. As Jack would've said, "Do your f'n job!" Luke and the Comeback Kids, as well as many other teams and players, at the least deserve an apology and an accountable promise to do better!

  4. It happens so many times at this point its basically part of their job. And it happens with some teams more than others too. Terrible officiating and they should 10000000% take consiquences for these stupid "mistakes"

  5. This is a huge problem in hockey, it shouldn’t matter if the ref doesn’t “want” to give them another man advantage…. Their only responsibility is to call the penalties!! Hughes could’ve been hurt there.

Make the series!! I will follow it!!

  6. if you have a soft coach in Ruff dont complain Devils get this treatment from the refs)))

  7. No call. Move on. If we’re going to kick and scream over every little call it’s going to be a longer season than we’re already experiencing with this unstructured mess.

  8. Watching canucks islanders tonight 1/9 and what I’ve been saying all year about the devils couldn’t be more accurate, and still no one is talking about it. The structure these 2 teams are playing with, such simple hockey and then letting their skill take over when the play is there, makes these two teams (with not nearly as much talent) far better than the devils. Please start talking about getting rid of Ruff!! It’s like no one else watches the same team I’ve been watching all year.
