What a dramatic trade..



OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the trade last night between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Anaheim Ducks. The Flyers traded Cutter Gauthier to Anaheim in exchange for Jamie Drysdale and a 2nd round pick. There’s been plenty of rumors and drama surrounding this situation over the past 24 hours. Including a trade that would involve Gauthier and the Montreal Canadiens. Let’s take a look.

    As a former Nordiques fan who took about 25 years to get over them moving and my friendly hatred of the Habs, I still vividly remember the news of Lindros declining to play in Quebec. I agree with history, Nordiques ended up on the better end of the trade but.. man. A player not wanting to play for a team was unheard of at the time and it took the next messiah to do it.. we're at the point some #5 pick who doesn't exactly have a generational profile at all can decide to play under the sun instead of one of the greatest hockey town in the US. I must say, I really don't like the smell of that trade..

    If buddy likes playing politics, he'll be ducking shit for years over this. It could have been a worse pun. Only time will tell who wins in this trade.

    People shit on Gauthier after only hearing 1 side of the story. After some more digging I think it’s justified that he soured on the org. They refused to sign him this season and sent him back to college to save money. That would piss anybody off. Anyways, I really hope the habs do a trade of this caliber soon. To be honest, I’m sick of 70% of our roster at this point. I want talent and skill (Zegras? 😮)

    Lol Philly basically said we wanted to protect the kid from bad press, to just wreck him after being traded! A lot of ppl hating on the kid but come on the organization(Philly) don’t care about their prospects at the end of the day.

    Happy we passed. Son’t really mind a player asking for a trade, even at the start of his career. Teams have too much control for the first 7 or so years of the players contract.
