  1. Yo Petey,
A homerun contract comes with extreme pressure and degrades your management from building a highly competence team.
    8 years x 10 million.
    Get it done.

  2. Brad Treliving also handed Nylander the most buyout proof contract possible. Because you know how well that worked with Huberdeau in Calgary.

  3. When everyone was crying about Hellebuyck wanting out and not signing, all I had to do was look at the new paint job on his goalie mask. That wasn't the goalie mask of a player who wanted out of Winnipeg. After that it was just haggling over the numbers for a goalie who wanted to play out the rest of his career as a Jet.

  4. 10:50 Jets fans have been telling me it definitely had a fair bit to do with locker room leadership, and guys like Wheeler were a problem. Lots of other things changed, and I gotta say, hats off to the Jets for what they've accomplished this year. Well done.

  5. Don and Rick. Great show you guys have. Enjoy watching your show.

I never thought I would see the day that someone refuses to play for the Philadelphia Flyers.

It is fun watching the Vancouver Canucks this season.

    All the best in 2024.

  6. Loved the episode. Don, don't beat yourself up too much about calling for a rebuild and F the haters. A lot of people were calling for it, hard to forecast this canucks team would turn it around so quick. Also Listening to Don do some Canucks game calls early in the show was fantastic. What a great Throwback. You guys are the best Canucks and Pacific Northwest hockey coverage. Period.

  7. Troy Stecher only making 1.1 in Arizona on a one year contract. We got enough big dudes on the back end. Could use him as a poor mans Tanev at the deadline.

  8. The trick here is if you get too many new parts then you risk alienating the guys that brought you to this point. And who’s to say the new guys even if they are potentially more skilled able to fit in and put up numbers. We’ve got several guys at the start of their real career the start of their breakout seasons and who says the new guys will give the same effort
