The injuries continue to mount for the New York Islanders as they placed defenseman Robert Bortuzzo on IR and recalled goalie Ken Appleby on an emergency basis from Bridgeport. The Isles did not make any announcement regarding how long Bortuzzo and Varlamov may be out of the lineup and Varly has not yet been placed on IR.

Appleby sucks. Better hope sorokin doesn't go down next. Move lennox to ahl. with appleby on isles. Need 3, 6 back. Too bad ahl offers nothing for isles (aho, bolduc suck) outside of ishkatov going to waste there. Can't even get a sniff of nhl action. Isles ahl outlook is like a bad weather forecast-very gloomy outlook. Good job louzer.

Ha ha lol thank you Gil I’ve been saying this from last season and the Summer NYI are the 3rd oldest in the league 29.0 years old, has it become pretty obvious that the Ownership, management, Lamarillo do not care about their fan bases, and I always feel terrible about the next guy, Who ever is the next head of operations and General Manager is just jumping on to a sinking ship, great show as always thank you Gil ! Oh and the islanders so far average 35.59 shots against they might be leading the league with that, bad timing too start a shady Goaltender, Constant uphill battle with this team

What bother me is how nobody talks aboutnhowmmany injuries the id;es have. Could youimagine if this was the :eafs or Rangers? The excuses would be flying. The Yotes are improved this year but the Isles REALLY NEED to gain two points tonight.
They have age but these injures aren’t from age. Pulock was drilled in the ankle with a puck. Pelech in the wrist. Mayfield hit with a puck. Varly the only person so far with some sort of likely soft tissue tweak.
Good morning team. I hope everyone is having a great Thursday. We knew this mini trip was going to be challenging. I hope we get healthy fast. The division is pretty tight and we're going to need every available player down the stretch. We knew it wasn't going to be all roses, but I think everyone is playing fine, with the exception of our top line for the last few games. They start producing again and we'll win our fair share of games, IMO. I still don't like taking dumb penalties, especially when the team has a lead. Hi Gil! All I can say is that when a team is dealt with injury adversity, sometimes they unite and pull off some surprises. This team is capable because of their resiliency. However, that can only last for so long. A win tonight and we play Saturday with house $$$!! Gotta get thru this road trip—-come back home—and figure it out. Appears gloom but a W does wonders! Losing Varly hurts because Sorro will get taxed if this keeps up. It’s not about the games it’s about the high danger pressure rubber he’s facing. Take care Gil!!
Hey Gil – It sucks that we have so many guys on the IL or LTIR especially when they consist of D-Men and a Goaltender. But my question is I see alot of players put on waivers and the Isles most certainly never pick any of these guys up and I think they could def help our team when it comes to forwards and other then Mike Reilly we haven't helped ourselves out using the waiver wire. My next thought is we def could benefit from getting a Veteran Goaltender by signing him or trading for someone who can stabilize our group whether that is Halak who is a FA or maybe someone else because Sorokin looks tired and playing him too much is going to subject him to an injury which would be devastating. No matter what we need back up ASAP.
