
The rule says that if the linesman has to make the high sticking call because the ref missed it the call is automatically a double minor no matter the lack of injury or blood as a result.

i got downvoted for saying this in the gdt but this is literally what happened. the refs had no idea wtf happened so they called a double minor so they could review it. it was very clearly a high stick so therefore the call stands..
i like to see them get the call right but as far as i could see there was no blood so them having to call a double minor just so they could review it is just plain bs.
What a dumb fuckin rule. It makes sense why they’d have a quick review when the refs missed it in real time but I can’t conceive of a reason why it can’t then be assessed as an appropriate 2 minute minor after review.
