[Leah Angstman] possible answer to phantom double minor high sticks

The rule says that if the linesman has to make the high sticking call because the ref missed it the call is automatically a double minor no matter the lack of injury or blood as a result.

i got downvoted for saying this in the gdt but this is literally what happened. the refs had no idea wtf happened so they called a double minor so they could review it. it was very clearly a high stick so therefore the call stands..

i like to see them get the call right but as far as i could see there was no blood so them having to call a double minor just so they could review it is just plain bs.

What a dumb fuckin rule. It makes sense why they’d have a quick review when the refs missed it in real time but I can’t conceive of a reason why it can’t then be assessed as an appropriate 2 minute minor after review.
