The Montreal Canadiens played tonight in the American Airlines Center against the home team Dallas Stars and would end up beating them by a final score of 4-3 in regulation. In the 1st period Jamie Benn opened the scoring just 11 seconds into the game for the 1-0 lead but goals from Nick Suzuki and Kaiden Guhle would give Montreal the 2-1 lead after the 1st ended. In the 2nd period Jordan Harris would score his 1st goal of the year for the 3-1 Habs lead. In the 3rd period on his 23rd birthday Cole Caufield would give the Canadiens the 4-1 lead before final 5 minute goals from Wyatt Johnston and Jason Robertson would give the Habs anxiety however they could not complete the comeback and the Habs would hold on for the win. With said victory the Montreal Canadiens are now 16-16-5 with 37 points for 6th in the Atlantic Division, just 1 point back of the Detroit Red Wings.
